The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 117
continues.

SUMMARY...Damaging wind gusts and isolated severe hail remain
possible across Severe Thunderstorm Watch 117. A downstream watch is
not anticipated.

DISCUSSION...Lift provided by the approaching shortwave trough and
augmented by surface convergence has resulted in scattered
thunderstorms across WW 117. Thus far, cells throughout eastern
portions of the watch have developed strong updrafts rapidly but
then quickly transitioned to a more linear structure and weakening.
A few strong wind gusts have been measured over the past hour and
the expectation is for damaging wind gusts to remain the predominant
severe threat. Severe hail is also possible, particularly within the
first half hour or so of storm initiation.

Concerning...Tornado Watch 121...

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 121 continues.

SUMMARY...A tornado watch will likely be issued soon downstream of
tornado watch 121.

DISCUSSION...Deeper updrafts ahead of an MCV currently in northeast
Arkansas continue to rotate and have a history of producing
tornadoes. The downstream airmass remains unstable enough to support
a continued threat for at least a few more hours. The greatest
tornado threat will be along the frontal boundary where low-level
vorticity is maximized. Therefore, a tornado watch will likely be
issued soon for areas downstream of tornado watch 121.
