    Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 227...

    The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 227
    continues.

    SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will continue to move south and east through
    the morning hours. Large hail will be possible with the strongest thunderstorms.

    DISCUSSION...Ongoing cluster of severe thunderstorms -- aided by
    warm-air advection on the nose of a RAP analyzed 30 knot low-level
    jet -- will continue to move southeast through the early morning.
    These thunderstorms appear to be moving into an area of increasing
    instability -- most-unstable CAPE around 4000 J/kg -- across
    southern South Dakota. Given continued warm-air advection,
    sufficient instability, and deep-layer shear on the order of 50
    knots, expectation is that thunderstorms will persist for a couple
    more hours and continue to pose a large hail threat.
