The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 237
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe threat continues for Severe Thunderstorm Watch
0237. Widespread damaging winds possible with well-organized bow
echo.

DISCUSSION...A small, but highly organized MCS displaying bowing characteristics is moving southward at over 40 knots, driven by both
a strong surface cold pool and rear-inflow jet aloft. Despite modest
mid-level flow, current RAP soundings suggest a very moist,
well-mixed, and strongly buoyant airmass is present ahead of this
bow echo, suggesting that the stronger winds aloft within the
rear-inflow jet may quickly mix down to the surface. As such,
widespread damaging winds cannot be ruled out within a narrow
corridor centered around the apex of the bow.

The threat for damaging winds may continue well into the evening,
until boundary-layer stabilization may begin to inhibit the downward
transport of damaging winds to the surface several hours from now. A
new Severe Thunderstorm Watch may be necessary for middle and
western Tennessee if the convective complex remains organized.
