Areas affected...Northwest ND
Concerning...Tornado Watch 177...
Valid 142341Z - 150115Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 177 continues.
SUMMARY...Tornado threat continues across northwest ND...especially
near the international border.
DISCUSSION...Strong low-level warm advection appears to be the
primary forcing mechanism for deep convection along/just north of
the international border. Several longer-lived supercells have
progressed into southeast SK/southwest MB and this activity is
expected to focus along the border region into the late evening
hours. South of the warm front, higher-based convection has
struggled to develop across western ND. Several attempts at
sustained updrafts have failed and it's not entirely clear how
convection will evolve over the next few hours; although, storms
should eventually focus along the cold front as it surges into this
part of the watch. Greatest tornado threat should focus along the
Canadian border.
