    Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 198...

    The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 198
    continues.

    SUMMARY...Strong/severe thunderstorms will approach the eastern edge
    of Watch 198 towards 22Z. Depending upon the evolution of the severe
    threat, watch extension or new watch issuance will likely be needed.

    DISCUSSION...A severe bowing segment is accelerating southeast
    across northwestern Kansas currently, and KGLD reported a gust to 60
    kt at 2030Z. This complex will most likely continue southeast along
    a buoyancy gradient extending to the southeast to near Garden City,
    KS. At its current speed, the apex of this line will approach the
    eastern edge of the watch around 22Z. More storms may also develop
    via assistance from outflow and a possible MCV moving eastward out
    of Colorado. A damaging wind and perhaps large hail potential should
    evolve towards the eastern edge of the watch over the next 1-2
    hours, and either an extension in area or new watch issuance will be
    needed.
