Probably should document the use of ss rather than netstat. netstat is obsoleted and actually in some ways, broken because of old ioctl syscalls that it uses versus ss using the newer netlink syscalls. Mostly the same command line argument syntax as before, just ss adds more, like filters.

netstat is more ubiquitous than ss, so I still want to keep those references in the wiki as well.

Sure. Though you do have to consider, netstat is definitely old and literally broken today in Linux. netstat for FreeBSD and others though are also not the same netstat for Linux as well, they differ in some aspects (and often also do more).
