    This is really the wrong message area for Synchronet support questions.

    As for your host, it appears you don't have an IP address (A record or CNAME)
    in your DNS record:

    $ nc -u bbs.leenooks.net 11
    bbs.leenooks.net: forward host lookup failed: Unknown host : Connection timed
    out
    $ host bbs.leenooks.net
    < bbs.leenooks.net mail is handled by 10 l.dlcm.co.

    Yes, since posting this, I removed the bbs.leenooks.net CNAME as it was messing
    with my SMTP (the way I shove SMTP around internally).

    So I have added an alterant.leenooks.net

    [leenooks@ig-1-3 ~]$ nc -u alterant.leenooks.net 11

    User Action Time-on Node ------------------------- ------------------------------- -------- ---- Alterego posting message 4:11:52 1

    But still your check your services js says port 11/udp is not open?

    Yeah, it has always worked.

    My question was - when I log into another Synchronet BBS, why I dont show up, when other users show up?

    IE: I logged into VERT, while I was logged into my BBS, used CTRL-P "I", there were 4 other users listed, but not my BBS.

    Because your system is not yet in the list (at this moment anyway) at: ftp://vert.synchro.net/sbbsimsg.lst

    There's a timed event SBL2SMB, which is normally set to run up to 4 times a day. But the default maximum export frequency (for the same BBS entry) is once every 7 days.

    So make sure the SBL2SMB event is running.

    You can check your data/sbbslist.json file (e.g. with a text viewer/editor) and
    find the last export date for your BBS entry. If the last export was less than 7 days ago but *before* you changed/fixed your hostname, that'd explain why it wasn't been seen across the network yet.
