I have in my modopts.ini to alphabetically sort the listing. However, I creatd a xtrn_sec.ans file and it doesn't display. Just the dynamically created menu appears. So what am I missing?

You also need the .asc or .msg version of the menu file: http://wiki.synchro.net/custom:menu_files

I'll bet you can just rename the .ans file to an .asc and it will
    work...

Ruben, You need an asc version also for the ans to show up. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure that's a good idea.. An .asc file for Synchronet is meant to have color/attribute codes in Synchronet format, or no attribute codes at all (plain text). Synchronet will choose the .asc file (or .msg file now) if the client doesn't support ANSI. So if you rename an .ans to .asc and a client happens to not support ANSI, they would get a bunch of ANSI codes that their terminal would display directly rather than interpreting as color/attributes.

However, I think it would be very unlikely that a BBS client wouldn't support ANSI..

Ok, providing the asc file displayed the ans file which had options listed alphabetically as is displayed by the dynamically displayed screen. But if using the ans file the selections are relying on the order as entered in scfg

Quick questions, is there a way in the External of scfg to organize the options say alphabetically or move them?

You can cut and paste to items to put them in the order you want.

Didn't know that. I'll cut and paste in the scfg under externals for my
