Right now, I don't allow uploads except for Verified Users In Good Standing. I also changed the file areas for New, Unverified, or Guest users to just file board 1, file area 1...dealing with information
files on the BBS. To see the rest of the file areas, via FTP, the
website, or telnet, one has to be logged on.
I used to have a majority of the areas available to all...but I got a
ton of information requests looking for photo.scr and info.zip (both malware), or they tried to upload both. So, I blocked the web browser

So, I blocked the web browser anonymous FTP logons. So, because of the malware search and attempted uploads of same, I don't have all the file areas available to "Guests".

I'm not to worried about restricting downloads, as long as malware can't be uploaded.

What are you using to scan your files for malware and computer viruses?
wait, what?? anonymous can upload but not download? you're extremely brave to allow anonymous uploads... when they find you, they'll eat you alive...
That's a great way to get a board full of malware. Might work for a malware TL>collecting honeypot. ;)
