    Hi all.

I just installed a fresh copy of Synchronet 3.17b and I have changed the max nodes from 4 to 10. However, node 5-10 don't make themselves ready and
    continue to stay offline.

What do I have to do to fix this?

    Thanks!

SCFG->Nodes, add the additional nodes (5-10).

They already have been added. But on the wait screen nodes 5-10, they are saying Offline.

Okay, so you need to set the LastNode value in sbbs.ini [bbs] to 10.

Tried to do the upgrade from 3.16c to 3.17b, most things worked but some things such as voting and avatars did not.
I then backed up my whole sbbs folder and installe 3.17b fresh install wich worked fine until I copied over my user data file an my ansi screens after that it went sh*t I am back to my 3.16c setup.
    BTW always backup before upgrading:)

the avatar external menu options are not there, no way to pick or create an avatar.
after I put my user dat file and custom ansi screens in I got many red error messages, no I dod not save any of the messages sorry.
I will set up 3.17 locally again and see if I can get that to work.

Maybe not necassary but thought I would try a fresh install.
not a problem as I just renamed my sbbs folder to sbbs_backup before installing.

There only one option that gets added (/A) and that's added to the main menu of the default.bin command shell only (which uses text/menu/main.asc as its main menu display file). Maybe you restored/used your customized main.asc file so you didn't *see* the menu option. Also, the avatar chooser is added to the external programs configuration, so you should be able to find it (regardless of command shell or menu files) on the external progarm (doors) menu. And when new users register, they'll be dropped into the avatar chooser automatically.

well it did not get added to the external programs (Avatars) when I did upgrade, however I decided to do a fresh install and streamline the BBS a little better, everything is good now except the stuff I need to re-add.
Thanks so much for your input DM.
I love the webv4 makes for a nice clean website.

    Rob,

    BTW always backup before upgrading:)

    Absolutely.

    When I download the SBBS_DEV.ZIP and SBBS_RUN.ZIP, I backup my \ctrl
and \exec directories first. Then, I shut down the SBBS Control Panel completely...unzip SBBS_DEV.ZIP into \sbbs\exec -- and unzip the \exec
out of SBBS_RUN.ZIP into \sbbs -- right now, I haven't seen the need to
backup any other directories when doing those updates...but I don't get
a chance to grab them every day.
