Reading and Radio Resource, a local non-profit for those with reading and print disabilities, (including dyslexia, blindness, and ESL) has a local sub-carrier radio station called North Texas for the Blind. NTRB does some original programming, and one of those is a program by radio personality Ira Libsom and record producer Don Sundee called Supermarket Specials. Airing on Thursdays and early saturyday morning, this show is a 30 minute program covering the supermarket sale papers for the major chains in DFW and Austin. Where this becomes useful to people who don't have access to the sub-carrier is that they make the show availible for download on their site, so anyone
can stream it using any MP3 player capable of handling web based content,
like Winamp or the Windows Media Player.
You can find it at the following link. If you find it useful, please
consider donating some of your time or some money to the station, as like
most volunteer organizations they always need help. http://www.readingresource.org/radio.html

Well, after looking for the link, I just found out they'll be absent for two weeks on the site, so check in with them in a couple of weeks. The show is fun, and it covers a lot of sale ads -- Kroger, Tom Thumb, Albertsons, Aldi, Target, Wal-mart, El Rancho, Fiesta, Sprouts, HEB, and a few others, along with tips and a horrible joke.
