Garland is a cesspool of evangelical and anti-government extremists - so nobody wants to do business with them.
They voted a cut in business taxes, trying to PAY someone to do business
with them.
One company took them up on their offer, "Bodega Meats".
Most communities wouldn't let an ethnic meat-rendering plant into their community for any price.
They're gross, they're an environmental mess, and they stink up the
place for miles around.
But the Christians are desperate, and this is the only company that was willing to do business with them.
So - for the best dog and rat jerky in all of Texas, y'all head on out
to Garland for some good, down-home cookin!
You'll come for the food, but you'll stay for the atmosphere.

I snipped "rec.pets.cats.the.other.white.meat" from the NG line. Troll
much?
I wonder what the future (downwind) neighbors think?

It's Garland - they don't think there; they just BELIEVE.

I used to pass by slaughterhouses[1] and chemical plants on my way to
work. While I doubt this will be as bad, I would find a way to thank the officials for pushing this killer of property values down my throat if I
had to put up with the stench.
[1] Including the one Joe Frazier worked at many years ago, which was the inspiration for the Rocky scenes.
(Bonus points for the name of the slaughterhouse)
Yea, but how does it taste?
