Yep. It's In-N-Out. If you've had it before, it tastes the same.

The Freddy's right next door that is a ghost town is a better burger in
my opinion. And Five Guys just down the street sure is. As is
Fuddrucker's across the street. In fact, you probably have to go north
to Wendy's to find a burger it is notably better than.

It's priced reasonably for what you get, and isn't a bad burger by any stretch, but good Lord, it isn't worth any long wait. I was in line for
20 minutes - that's about as long as any drive through food is worth.
And for 20 minutes, I'd drive to Carl's Jr. to get a Double Western
Bacon Cheeseburger, which kicks the high holy hell out of a 3x3 animal style...

And if you get it to go, eat the fries in the car - they are undoubtedly
the worst not-warm fries on the planet.

    Well, I haven't, until today.

I went by the Allen one and discovered that the line wasn't all that
    long, and got a double-double, fries, and a shake after a half-hour
wait. Not bad (actually, quite good), but I agree that Five Guys is
better. In-N-Out is closer to me, though, so once the fascination
    dies down I'll be back.

Ate half in the car, the other half at home. Agreed.

I ate there quite a few times when working on the west coast and never cared for the fries. Hot or cold. Seemed undercooked and greasy to me. Burgers
    were good.

Not bad, but not worth the line or price. fries really suck if you take
them home. Not much if any better than Whataburger. They just have more options. Its a fad brought on by celebrities endorsing it but I don't think they have a Whataburger or braums in L.A. For fast food as far as price and quality goes I don't think you can beet Whataburger or Braums. but I am
always willing to try. At least Krystal's closed done. that place really sucked but had the same hype as what In-N-Out is getting. The only place I thought was worth the hype and I am sad to see it gone in Plano was Krispy Cream. Another subject all in itself.

Every person I've talked to who has served time in California and also spent time here has told me that the'd prefer a Whataburger over an In and Out Burger any day of the week and every hour of the day.

A friend of mine recently passed by there and found out it'd take an hour to get to the drive through. I wonder how much longer that will continue.

Are they still putting a scripture on the wrapper of their burgers? No one I know has been to one of their locations recently.

    Personally, I won't eat at a Braum's. See:

I definitely get that vibe looking at some Braum's - but are they likely
any different in that regard than any other franchised fast food place?

You can find articles like that for every easting establishment. Read D magazine and there latest top 20 Steak house article. Service, quality, cleanliness, etc............. can very from place to place no matter what
fast food joint you go to. If you really want top quality service, cleanliness, quality, etc....... then make your own food and eat at home. that's about the only way you can get to perfections unless of course the person is a crappy cook, has a dirty house, and are piss poor company...LOL

A friend of mine recently passed by there and found out it'd take an hour to get to the drive through. I wonder how much longer that will continue.

I got mine in half an hour.

Are they still putting a scripture on the wrapper of their burgers? No one I know has been to one of their locations recently.

I didn't notice one on the wrapper, but there was one on the

Ya' know, when I lived in California, I don't recall *anyone* who really

Not bad, but not worth the line or price. fries really suck if you take
them home. Not much if any better than Whataburger. They just have more options. Its a fad brought on by celebrities endorsing it but I don't
    think
they have a Whataburger or braums in L.A. For fast food as far as price
    and
quality goes I don't think you can beet Whataburger or Braums. but I am always willing to try. At least Krystal's closed done. that place really sucked but had the same hype as what In-N-Out is getting. The only place
    I
thought was worth the hype and I am sad to see it gone in Plano was Krispy Cream. Another subject all in itself.

Burger Island is always great! Great choice for lunch tomorrow. Thanks!

I've heard the Irving location tends to produce soggy fries, but this information is a couple of years old. Anyone been there lately who can confirm or deny this?

I ate at the Rowlett location of Burger Island a couple of days
ago. It's on Lakeview Parkway in the Tom Thumb shopping center
where Bajio Grill used to be (the Garland location of Bajio
Grill was great - too bad they're both closed now). I ordered
the bacon cheeseburger combo. Since I like my fries crisp, I
asked the waitress if their's were. She told me that they could
make them that way. I asked her to do so. When my order came,
the fries were excellent. They were nice and crisp and very
tasty. The hamburger was also very good. I'll be back.

And, as long as we are discussing burger joints, my wife and I
tried Burger Extreme a few months ago. It is also on Lakeview
Parkway in Rowlett a few miles west of Burger Island, and thus,
a few miles closer to me. They are in the Aldi shopping center.
We both thought it was quite good. Unfortunately, their sign is
nearly impossible to read. I drove by it many, many times, never
knowing what it said until one day, a car painted with their
logo pulled up next to me when I was waiting at a red light.
Then, I was able to read it.

Managed to score a Jalapeno Burger today and went with the onion rings
instead of fries and they too were kinda soggy. They give you a huge portion of them and my 10 minute drive back to work may have contributed to that.
They tasted OK though and the burger was awesome as usual.
