It is a nice point software. I doesn't look like there will be be more updates to it unfortunately but it works well for the most part.

Winpoint is quite nice as it integrates well with a Windows environment. I also tried to contact the author (I found a trail that led me to an address at a Univerisity in Germany, @hshl.de) Is that the same destination you found?

The author is no longer active on Fido but you should be able to
contact him at the following email address: timschat(at)gmx(dot)de

I like the software very much!

Yes, it is quite nice but it's no longer being developed by the
    author.

If it's of any interest, there's a basic installation guide available
    here ..... https://stargate.org.uk/winpoint/winpoint_guide.pdf

Although the document is not fully up to date, I think you may find it useful.

WinPoint has some bugs, but not fixed for a long time. Software is very important for survive of fidonet points and nodes.

Sorry, my english is poor. =(

Unfortunately, the bugs will never be fixed as the author ceased
development of WinPoint 12 years ago :-((

Hi Fernando, I agree with you. Fidonet needs an easy to use software to increase its following. Winpoint despite its problems is a good solution. pity that the developer has not gone ahead with the development. :-( Best regards

Winpoint has many fine qualities. It was my first go-to point|editor program.
Along the way I learned about 2 other ones that are quite worthy of regular use.

I produced a summary of PROS and CONS across 3 of the better known point programs, here:

    https://kolico.ca/fidonet/echos/points/

You might find it useful in your journey.

Martin Foster produced a wonderful Quick-Start Guide for Winpoint. I know that
I would have struggled a bit with configuring Winpoint had it not been for the step-by-step instructions in the guide.

Welcome to the world of fidonet|fidonet-style messaging.

Of course, not easy to configure for beginner fidonet user. We have experience for many years, but young users not.

My idea is to try to develop a script that automatically configures OpenXP, so I will read the manual and see what i can do. :)
I try for husky project, but not easy, also that is only available in linux.
