• [WinPoint] Templates annoyance

From Martin Foster@2:310/31.3 to All on Saturday, April 27, 2019 14:48:55
    Hello All!

It would appear that the message templates are only applied to echomail messages, none of them are applied to netmail messages.

    Anyone else seeing this behaviour?

    Regards,
    Martin

Yep. If a Reply-in-Netmail were to be triggered from an echo, it would be nice
if there was a header that included the name of the originating echo, for example.

In addition, a predefined signature also does not carry into a direct Reply-in-Netmail. :(

    Two more CONs.

Two bad we can't even Reply in the echo (utilizing the templates) and then change the Area in the header. Once the reply is started in the echo, it is locked for that Area (the Area drop-down is grey-out).

    Yes it would.

    That's correct.

    Possibly.

Hey, that's a brilliant idea, just tried it and .....

Once the reply is started in the echo, it is locked for that Area
    (the Area drop-down is grey-out).

    ..... it's *not* greyed out here :-)

However, there could be a problem when using that method for a *new*
netmail: there's a kludge in the message header that shouldn't be
    there.

    Martin

I like your application of the word: brilliant. :)

Maybe the programmer had a problem transposing the templates into Netmail/.MSG,
and decided to just allow changing the Area as a work-around.

Or.. something is *missing* in the message header? I may be able to duplicate the original problem, if I remember the message I tried it with. Then we need to identify the source of the problem. Then.. 1 more bug for the WinPoint entomotaxy?
