    Hey Martin!

Would it be possible to improve OXP's search feature to return with highlighted text in the echomail/netmail messages?

so you can see why the message was returned as a valid find for the search is one thing... TimED does this as does GoldED... it also helps to attract your attention to the phrase you found so you can quickly determine if it is what you were searching for...

    Mark beat me to it!

It can be a bit frustrating to find an apparent search match, but without
a visual clue as to WHERE the match is, we waste time looking all over a message, and maybe even miss seeing it.

Yes, of course, wasn't really thinking when I asked the question.

    Yes and now that I'm fully awake, I think that's a must-have feature. I'll
pass your suggestion on to the developer right away.

    Update .....

Although he thought it was a really good idea and he was up for it,
he's come back with words to the effect that due to the complexity of
the search routines, he's very reluctant to try and implement it for
fear of breaking other stuff :-(

    :(

That really is too bad. I guess the fear is a good sign. That means that he/they want the program to remain sustainable, viable and hence, supportable. If something should break, then the hope can die with it.

Meanwhile T-Bird covers highlighted search pretty darn good.

    Thanks for the feedback.
