Hi Ozz,
I wonder why they have not implemented at least a couple WiFi
drivers.
One can really wonder because the original PCB modem seems to handle
both landline and Internet connections via the laptops built-in antenna.
I did use the Internet access in a Lenovo until its UART gave up.
Anyway, this is the 2nd post to the FTN type networks from PCBoard
Version 16. I do not have (R)eply coded yet... as I was waiting for
my test partner to reply to my previous post 2 hours ago. So, if you
get this and you see any thing wrong please let me know (Good or
Bad).
I don't use the built-in reply function. I download the messages as QWK
packets and then use the MR/2 reader/editor (highly recommended) to read
and reply. After I'm finished with the mail I upload the replies as QWK packets.
For down/uploading the packets I use a 3rd-party PPE (QWKSCAN) program
because I found the original PCB utilities a bit cumbersome. Of course
one can get used to them.
Have a nice day,
Holger
