I don't really care: once `git fetch` would get a new stable tag, I'd have the fresh x86_64 kernel in 15 minutes, and arm64 in a hour. The check is performed twice in a hour.

Ahhh, OK. Didn't realize it was a race.

I used to worry about always having the latest kernel, but I
certainly don't anymore. Running Slackware64 14.2, fully updated
except for the kernel. Constantly updating that breaks too many
things that I don't want to bother fixing.

I just checked the current source and it is 5.4.20 as we speak. Also glibc-2.30 and gcc-9.2.0 while we're at it. As for stability 5.5.4 seems to be
fine ... so far but I've only got it running on one system thus far. I was going to wait for 5.5.5 before upgrading the other two systems, one of which I am typing this message on via a ssh login. I know how to have fun.

Not yet. Turns out that at least one of my machines has a major issue with 5.5.5. Too bad as I thought that version would look good in a default setup here. I am not unhappy where this sits today.

Should be 9.3.0 in a couple of weeks. I just saw the announcement the other day.

That can and does happen. So far the winner is 5.4.22 although the EuroPoint is currently booting;

had a very funny problem today, postfixadmin would not work with latest chrome browser, thinked it could be my php version of php that failed, but when i have
downgraded to oldest php and it still was there as a problem with logins, i begin to see if microsoft edge have same problem, and it have not, hmm :)

question is then is it a bug now in chromebrowser with csrc login fails or not,
what if its a security problem on microsft edge that allows me to login only there, yes i have now report it to gentoo devs and postfixadmin maintiner both on irc and github trackers

all well else for now, but will upgrade php to latest stable tomorrow again

I've noticed issues with firefox and streaming but it seems to have resolved itself after upgrading to firefox-68.6.0. I think it was a drm issue since it had no issues with the standard streaming services, only the ones that expect the user to respect their crappy exploitatiom of gullible users. Anyhow I'd be
more suspicious about the drm crap especially anything to do with google, such as the chrome browser. Myself I think drm should die a horrible, miserable death.

It wouldn't surprise me. I trust microsoft exactly as much as anything to do with google such as chrome. I say ditch them both.
