    We both should be due for a gcc upgrade in the next couple of weeks or so as the GNU people are threatening with a gcc-8 release soon. Currently there are two release candidates, the latest dated April 27. The development branch is still frozen last time I looked. We shouldn't have too much longer to wait but
    I am happy to see we're both up to speed and in sync with the latest kernel version even though our respective development enviroments are completely independent and optimized to our own specialized requirements. Having said that I am positive that your packages could be dropped on any x86_64 given your
    host - x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu - as well as the "-mtune=generic" gcc optimization.

    One of us had to do it.

    Absolutely fantastic! This is just what was needed here. My post, as well as your reply to it, are definetly up to the highest standards imaginable. I am totally in awe and am wondering why we didn't do this years ago. Text messaging was never this good despite the goofy binary data in the headers which we both know can be readily sacrificed to the bitbucket without any detrimental effects. In fact it is probably better without that nonsense.

    Aside to mark; Notice I didn't even mention stinkin' DOS-think which is at the
    root of all that ails Fidonet. :::evil grin:::
