On his web site he claims, "Serious food does not have to be
pretentious" and yet his website is all in the third person which
to my way of thinking is itself pretentious.

Second in irritatingness only to the royal We.

the portions are tiny, and the prices are higher.
wood grilled octopus [...] with "smoked almond tehina, fried
    lardo, torched kumquat"
    Shrimp-nettle har gow were
Uni & caviar toast, warm crumpet, red miso butter, shiso
Blue crab & angel hair, garlic breadcrumb, guanciale & jalapeno
In Georgia, apparently the young wine is aged
in clay pots buried underground, and the wine oxidizes to
an orangey color and a bittersweet but not sherryline
    aroma.
ice cream [...] and smoked salt
Some fascinating dishes, some of which you tell us were well
executed but on balance more pretentious than serious!

    Yes - fancy, odd, mixed.

I have some nice pickled onions I made, I'll try a gibson after the above tomorrow and let you know. <G>
Another respectable variation! Almond stuffed olives are another
fine garnish. They turn a martini into a Boston Bullet ...
    Boston Bullet
    2 oz gin
    1/2 oz dry vermouth
    1 almond stuffed olive
Stir the gin and vermouth in a mixing glass with ice and strain into
a cocktail glass. Garnish with an almond stuffed olive.

I actually think most Bostonians would rather
take a bullet than a Boston Bullet.

On first reading, the words Boston Ballet came
into my field of vision - I am sorting junk in
preparation for unloading the house and have
found (and tossed) things like my sister's
    elementary school notebooks, college transcripts,
and so on. While flunking out as a student at
university, she was an adjunct faculty in dance
at the same university, something I doubt has
ever been accomplished before or since. After
that she was a journeyman (right word?) with
the Boston Ballet for a few years.

I then read Boston Bulleit abd was disappointed
not to see a brown booze beverage.

    Red Raider
    cat: booze
    servings: 1

    1 oz bourbon
    1/2 oz triple sec
    1 oz sour mix
    1 ds grenadine

    Shake, strain into lowball glass.
