Slowly, but making progress. I did not stand for the Easter
choir today however. I'm trying to go up steps the normal way
but didn't lift the right knee quite high enough going to the
stage area and my toe hit the step above. It let me know that
    the knee is still mending.
Progress is good. :) So they had a chair for you on stage...?

Actually, a stool that put me at a decent height.

    That works... :)

I remember from when my ankle was healing that steps that I used
to be able to do no problem suddenly were MUCH higher than I
thought... With the ankle it was particularly going down, more
    than up...

Agreed, going up is getting easy but down is still a challenge. I can
do it, but it takes a bit more time.

And a lot more effort and need for support... ;)

but if it wasn't all that great a recipe anyway, no reason to
    keep playing with it... ;)
That's what we figured. Discussed possible options but it came
down to the fact that neither of us were that impressed with the
recipe so the card went into the recycle bag.
    Might as well... ;)

Best place for it, not taking up room in the house and now gone.

    Yup... :)

We're sort of getting into pollen season here... we don't have
it as bad as you do, though... Thursday night's heavy rain did
knock a lot of pollen onto my windshield though, that I noticed
when I used the wipers Friday morning... ;)
I think the pine pollen is slowing down now, finally! We've had
some days when you could see clouds of it.
I'm glad ours isn't that bad ever.... ;)

I never thought it was that bad when we lived on the coast but the sea breezes took most of it away. Came back to the state, living further inland and not as many breezes to blow it away.

And possibly a greater concentration of pine trees, as well....

We always get some cave aged gruyere. Started as a sample, now
    a favorite.
They hooked you on that sample... ;)
Very much so, not that I mind.
Some things just are worth it... (G)
That being one, a 5 year old Cheddar is another.
    That, too.... :)

Burt hooked us on that when he brought some to Janis's picnic in 2008. Found that Cabot makes one (and a 3 year old) so we try to get some at their outlet in Waterbury, VT.

Just a bit less outlay... at least as long as you are there already for
    the VBS trip... ;)

I like to rehome where appropriate, if possible. Last year I was
given some flannel--pink, with a princess/castle/etc print to it
so some of it went into a baby quilt this spring. Found out that
the lady due in fall is having a girl and another lady is due in
November. Fall baby may have some of that flannel in her quilt.
    Useful piece of fabric... :)
That's what I figured. Very much a little girl fabric. The quilt I
made for the boy expected soon (I think in a couple of weeks now)
was solid blue flannel with alternating pieces of prints. The
prints were of sports balls, construction equipment and other
little boy oriented. Used up scraps from other projects on that one.
And that's the beauty of quilting... ;) Not much (if at all) of the
    fabric goes to waste.... ;)

No, especially if you're making scrappy quilts. I've a box of "fancy" fabrics that one day may go into a Victorian style crazy quilt.

Those are fun to make... :) When I was in Embroiderer's Guild years
ago, we did a group project making a Victorian style crazy quilt... we
each did a (10"?) square, putting together scraps and then doing fancy embroidery stitches over the seams... :) I think it was either donated
    or raffled off finally....

I'll be doing therapy on my own for a couple of weeks tho. I
couldn't book any while I was on hold so lost the chance to keep
going to the clinic. Can't do some of the resistance ones but
    some work out beats none.
True.... That's a bit strange about the clinic's policy, though,
since it wasn't your fault that therapy had to be put on hold,
    it was doctor's orders....

Therapy times get booked up fast as most people need multiple
sessions. With new patients wanting to get into the clinic as soon as
the doctor says it's ok, it's understandable that time slots fill up
fast. I'm on the call if a cancellation list--have gotten in a few
times with that but will resume scheduled times in early May.

Oh... that makes better sense... :) I'd gathered from what you said
that they wouldn't let you back at all, instead of that you'd have to
    schedule out a ways...

to have both--one for going up the steps; the other for (slowly)
    going down.
Or to hold onto both while going up or down... :)

That also. Had to go out earlier today--was able to do the steps down better than even yesterday.

    Very good sign... :)

Any improvement is good. I am doing somewhat better going down, but it's
still slower and a bit awkward. No points for style.

OTOH, this afternoon I made a hot milk cake (from More With
Less); something I've done off and on for years. It'll be served
with fresh crushed (slightly sweetened) strawberries and whipped
cream for dessert tonight (and probably tomorrow night).
    Sounds good... :)

We used up the strawberries and whipped cream so Steve had some cake
with plain yogurt and mangos, then just mangos. I've served the cake
with yogurt (instead of whipped cream) and strawberries or peaches before--may do that at the picnic.

There's a nice thought... :) Sounds better to me than 'nanner
    pudding... ;)

The cake is like a sponge cake, but somewhat denser. My mom made it from
time to time when I was growing up, but it was not one of her "regular"
cakes. Just often enough that it was special, I guess.

And possibly a greater concentration of pine trees, as well....
Possibly but they're saying that the grass pollens are the more
irritating ones than pine, in reality. The pine pollen just
    makes RH>> everything yellow-green.
Probably depends on which one is allergic to more...

Grasses are usually more of a problem but they aren't as visible as
the pine according to one of the local weather forecasters.

Could be... fortunately, I don't seem to be particularly sensitive to either....

Be glad, NC is a bad state for pollen type allergies.

Burt hooked us on that when he brought some to Janis's picnic
in 2008. Found that Cabot makes one (and a 3 year old) so we
try to get some at their outlet in Waterbury, VT.
Just a bit less outlay... at least as long as you are there
already for the VBS trip... ;)
Might have somebody pick some up for us this year. (G)
In return for your sending along the broccoli salad....? (G)

Haven't really discussed that--may just send the recipe. Will have to
send the craft stuff and day to day plans--the person they had lined
up to do them had to back out of the trip (work). They have someone
else to do them but want to repeat what I'm doing for our VBS.

At least the major work of planning the craft out will have been done already (and the bugs worked out) when you do it for your own VBS...

That's why we do it here first. (G)

No, especially if you're making scrappy quilts. I've a box of
"fancy" fabrics that one day may go into a Victorian style
    crazy quilt.
Those are fun to make... :) When I was in Embroiderer's Guild
years ago, we did a group project making a Victorian style
crazy NB>>> quilt... we each did a (10"?) square, putting together
    scraps
and then doing fancy embroidery stitches over the seams... :)
I NB>>> think it was either donated or raffled off finally....
Good rehoming in either case. I just finished the final odds and
ends of hand work on a quilt (teaching sampler) I'd started some
years ago. Got the main fabric from the stash our church in HI
had, added 3 others and the backing from my stash. I machine
quilted it on a regular sewing machine--not the fanciest
but...... NB>> That one has memories stitched into it, obviously....

Quite--and you will get to see it (and others) in September.

Yup, in person, not just pictures on a phone... (G)

With swatches. Back when we first got back to the main land from HI, I
bought a quilt kit at a fabric store. Today I started putting it
together--will not make it as directed but it will still be a nice
    looking one.

Wasn't able to get in this week but next week I do have one
appointment scheduled. Hopefully there will be another
cancellation as well. The week after that, I'll go back to
regularly scheduled twice a week appointments.
    Sounds good... :)

Just have to make sure meals planned for therapy days don't take a lot
of on my feet time to prep/cook. Last night Steve grilled burgers, had them on rolls with cole slaw I'd made on Tuesday. After church we got imitation maple creemees at a local custard stand.

Not to be compared with the real thing.... but a reasonable substitute....? ;)

A substitute, reasnable is debatable. (G)

Freestyle machine is diet Coke, not the "regular' so I don't get the
    HFCS.

Could be... fortunately, I don't seem to be particularly
    sensitive to either....
Be glad, NC is a bad state for pollen type allergies.
    Oh, I am... :)
Somebody once told me that every month but January has something
pollenating in the state. My sinuses can believe it.
Since NC doesn't get all that cold in the winter, I can believe
    it, too... :)

The western part of the state is definatly more like your winters but
the central (Piedmont) and eastward are milder. We don't get the bug
kill off as often as you do.

    Another telling factor...

Quite so. Right now we're under a severe thunderstorm watch, first
significant rain we've had in over a week. It'll all blow over before
    bedtime tho.

They have someone else to do them but want to repeat what I'm
    doing for our VBS.
At least the major work of planning the craft out will have
been done already (and the bugs worked out) when you do it for
    your own VBS...
That's why we do it here first. (G)
    Exactly... :)
Once I come up with the ideas. Still working on that.
A little time still for doing that... ;)

A couple of weeks, plus shopping and getting everything kitted up for
the GBC VBS. After that I'll get the things ready for VT--have about a week before they take off.

When is your local one...? (I know, we're almost in June now!)

The last full week of June, in the evening.

Right. :) When you bought the kit, you'd not had the
experience you now have with quilt-making.... Not at all
surprising that now you'd have your own ideas of what to do
    with it... :)
Besides the fact we don't need too many more bed quilts. (G)
You'd need more beds to display them.... ;)

    Walls work too. (G)

    True... :)

But that space is limited as I don't want any hung in the kitchen. The
other day a friend and I got 2 more blocks done--I sewed, she pressed.

a lot of on my feet time to prep/cook. Last night Steve
grilled RH>>>> burgers, had them on rolls with cole slaw I'd made on Tuesday.
After church we got imitation maple creemees at a local
    custard RH>>>> stand.
Not to be compared with the real thing.... but a reasonable
    substitute....? ;)
A substitute, reasonable is debatable. (G)
Guess you'll just have to wait for the real thing.... ;)
Eventually we'll get back up there for some. Maybe not as part
of a mission team but we will get there.
    D.V. and the crick don't rise.... ;)

Got it! Don't know if we'll have any more imitation creemees this
    summer tho.

Had your fill of imitation creemees, eh... ;)

They're nothing like the real thing.

She usually put a boiled (7 Minute?) frosting on it; I can
remember one time she had to make the frosting base (it then got
whipped with an electric mixer) several times before it came
right. Guess she didn't do it often enough to have the technique
down well enough to get it right the first time. I don't frost
it but use it as a base for fruit and yogurt desserts usually.
I think I'd prefer the fruit and yogurt to the frosting, too...
I might make one up for the picnic--it's easy enough to do and would
go well with the seasonal fruit.

So, the evening starts with the program and then procedes to the cookout...?

They have the opening worship time, teaching time and then go into the
program. The first 4 days end (for students) at 8; the last night goes a
bit longer as families like to linger and visit over the hot dogs and
    chips.

Had some brainstorms a few nights ago and came up with all of the
craft ideas for this year. Shouldn't take too much time to pull things together next week.

    Very good... :)

Had a good 3 hour work session with my assistant this afternoon. Got
things so that we can finish pulling projects together during the week.
The week after VBS we'll do a reset, getting things pulled together for
    VT.

The other day a friend and I got 2 more blocks done--I sewed,
    she pressed.
That was helpful... less strain on your knee that way, I'd
    guess... :)
Actually, not as good as if I'd been doing both. My knee
stiffened up from an hour or so of just sitting, driving the
sewing machine. I had to get up and work out the stiffness.
Oh, well.... now you know.... I'm sure you enjoyed the
    company, though.... ;)

Yes, it was a good time. She said that she and her daughter work that
    way also.

I'm sure it would make the time go quickly... maybe another time, you could change off periodically... or take breaks for you to get up from
the machine so you don't stiffen up...

I made sure I worked out the knee more often. This week we didn't get as
much done as we did other things (watched a video, started cleaning out
a cabinet, etc) instead. Got one full and part of a second block done.

On a related note, the doctor was pleased
with the progress today, said to come back in 4 months.
    Very Good... :)

Agreed, just have to work on the flex for more RoM.

And hopefully that will work out soon... :)

It's coming, bit by bit. Got an exercise to help my back (and indirectly
    the knee) on Friday.

Had your fill of imitation creemees, eh... ;)
They're nothing like the real thing.
And one taste per year confirms it... ;)
May not even do the one taste next year. (G)
You might remember how lacking it was before tasting, eh.... :)

Probably so. Would be nice if we could figure out how to make them. Problem is, our figures would suffer in the experimentation phase. (G)

Quite likely, unless you hit on it in the first or second try... :)

Not likely this summer tho. Did get a batch of cherry preserves made
    yesterday, instead. (G)

Not too bad then... ;) As long as you all aren't heading into
    drought... ;)
A bit of one, but not too bad. Didn't have any rain for about 10
days but getting enough now that the drought warning will
    probably be lifted.
Ah... you were closer than I thought you'd be, then...
We're a bit further south at the moment--have had rain every day
(including a storm as I type). Glad we have the camper, not tents.
For sure...! I'm currently at the Pond... having picked up RJ at
the Montreal Airport Friday evening, and thence to the Pond... we
had rain the last two days, but today (Sunday) was finally sunny
    and warmer... :)

We finally broke into the sun north of Ocala on Friday. Had some
storms here, since getting home, but overall not bad ones except for Thursday night. That one did some straight line wind damage north and
    west of us.

We only had one really strong storm... and that one was mostly heavy
rains with some somewhat strong winds, but nothing really bad, and not a thunderstorm... :) It did, though, keep me at the Pond for an extra day
at the end of the week...

(And with no internet access, these will not be uploaded until I get
home finally... first priority is getting his Jeep up and running...)

Looks like you made it home. (G)

    Yup... for the moment.... (G)

Do the kids do a little program for their parents to wrap
things up...? I know the VT one has a different sort of
    schedule, too...
They basically do the songs they sang in the worship time. I

My running around for the kid ended up taking an extra day, so I didn't

to get ready for the family camping... 4th of July was fairly quiet

Much more so! Steve and I worked together yesterday to make a
cherry pie that turned out absolutly yummy. Peaches are in
season, all over the place, so may do a peach pie next week.
    Both sound very yummy... :)

The cherry pie was good; blueberry will be subbed for peach. I'll do
that tomorrow as the schedule is less busy than today's was.

    Sounds reasonable... ;)

    Hi Nancy,

We're dry again here but in the low 90s. No major chances of
rain until next week. Steve will be hot, but dry while
grilling hot dogs tonight for VBS.
Dry is always nice when grilling.... :)

He'll be out with the VFW Chuck Wagon tomorrow and grilling for the
church again on Sunday. Hopefully by then we'll be down into the low
90s and heat index backed off a bit.

Hopefully it was a bit nicer by then... :)

It was, then the heat/humidity picked up again. The local Friday Night
on White (street celebration) was not fun to work----but they did. One
more day of the super hot/humid temps and on Tuesday we may not get out
    of the 70s, with rain.

    Busy summer of travel?
Pretty much.... Made more so with the kid being finally home for
a few months.... :) June 14-21 for that first trip to get him,
July 3-8(or9) for my Annual Meeting at the Pond plus 4th of July
fireworks and more running around for the kid,

Sounds like fun. Other than the above mentioned for Steve, I think
we'll make it a quiet 4th. Try out the new grill with some burgers probably.

I saw you explaining to Dale that the new grill is for traveling...
sounds nice.... Did it work nicely, then...?

It has; we've used it several times so Steve could get used to its
quirks. It will be available if we want/need another cooking surface for
    the picnic.

My running around for the kid ended up taking an extra day, so I
didn't get home until fairly late afternoon on the 10th... so I had
    less time
to get ready for the family camping... 4th of July was fairly quiet
other than the fireworks... and there was another set on the 5th, a
few camps down from us (between us and Linda's)... They were all very nice... :)

We didn't go out to the local show; it's a big "event" type thing, not
really what we enjoy. I don't "do" fireworks that well, especially the
smoke so stayed inside when neighbors started shooting them off. BTW,
did Linda ever get her knee surgery done?

July 13-20 for my family's camping week at Selkirk Shores SP....
then a break from travel (probably) until the Picnic at the end
of September.... and then the Fall Meeting over Columbus Day
weekend... Possibly other trips to the Pond since the kid is
    there....

Sounds busier than we were last year. (G)

Certainly feels busy, especially at the moment... I'm answering this
at Selkirk Shores, ran out of time before I left... :) From June 14
    to
July 20th, I've been home less than 2 weeks total... 3 out of the 5 Sundays away... ;) I've been considering a trip to the Pond in
August, but I'll wait a little while before I do.... (G)

Hopefully the family camping trip went well. It sounds like a fun time.
I can understand about wanting to take some time at home before going
back to the Pond; last year it felt like we didn't have that much turn
around time between trips. I've enjoyed the quieter summer this year.

They have the opening worship time, teaching time and then go
into the program. The first 4 days end (for students) at 8; the
last night goes a bit longer as families like to linger and
visit over the hot dogs and chips.
    Ah... Sounds nice....
Usually so. Having the new faucet will help clean up go easier
    this year.
    I'm sure it will... :)

It did; I was washing dishes while someone else dried. New faucet was
    very much a help.

    Very good... :)

It has more than paid for itself in the few weeks since it was put in.

Good.... :) It's all falling into place now.... :)
Yes, now it's all done but for the VT reset. Kids really
enjoyed the crafts again this year.
That's good.... You do have a good knack for them... :) Did
you find any that needed tweaking for VT, once you actually did
    them with the kids....?

They seemed to go quite well this year. No major tweaks needed. We're completly reset for 3 days in VT, partially for the other 2. I've
still got to write up the instructions tho, good job for tomorrow.

Very good... and I'm sure by now the final bit's been done, and sent
off to VT for their VBS... :)

The team is home from VT now. I didn't get any paniced phone calls or
texts from the one who was doing the crafts so AFAIK, all went well. The
team had some trouble with the church van while in VT but were able to
use alternate transportation while the van was fixed. It was repaired in
time for them to travel home without problem.

on that to finish. Might get two blocks made also as the next
ones look quite easy to assemble.
Making good progress on those projects, I see... :)

Getting there, got 2 more blocks made today. Four more to go but
before we begin the assembly of the top, I'm going to get a baby quilt made. Taking time now, before working on supper, to chill a bit.

    Another shower coming up soon...?

Have to ask the pastor's wife but I will be working on the quilt soon.
Only 2 blocks to make for the current one but will begin cutting this
    week.

Agreed, just have to work on the flex for more RoM.
And hopefully that will work out soon... :)
It's coming, bit by bit. Got an exercise to help my back (and
    indirectly the knee) on Friday.
    That sounds good... :)
    A definate help!
    You've got a good therapist there.... :)

A couple of good ones, actually.

    A very good thing... :)

Very good--but only 2 more visits. Been doing a lot of the ROM stuff at
home, trying to get the last bit, if possible.

Not likely this summer tho. Did get a batch of cherry preserves
    made yesterday, instead. (G)
Probably a better use of the time... (G)

Quite so; we can grill quite a bit if we want to at the picnic.

If that's what ends up... :)

And if the weather co-operates. We picked up a table top "fire pit" at
W-M the other day, a table for it at Re-Store but it's more for pretty
    than for grilling.

thing, not really what we enjoy. I don't "do" fireworks that

Very much so. Steve found out something interesting about mosquitoes the
other day--they tend to prefer people with type O blood over others. His
is O; he gets eaten alive. Mine is B and they ignore me, for the most
part. Guess O tastes better. (G)

BTW, did Linda ever get her knee surgery done?
Yes... It was over the winter, a year and a half ago... :)

Hopefully she recovered all she wanted to from it.

I think so... there's issues with the other leg now, forget if it's
    knee or hip....

Not fun. I had my last therapy session today but will continue with home exercises. He said that in time, this will become my "good" knee. Gave
it a good work out walking around the sewing/quilting expo in Raleigh
yesterday so it was tired today--but not hurting. It did hurt last night
but woke up pain free this morning.

The team had some trouble with the church van while in VT but

Quite so; we can grill quite a bit if we want to at the picnic.
If that's what ends up... :)

And if the weather co-operates. We picked up a table top "fire pit" at
W-M the other day, a table for it at Re-Store but it's more for pretty than for grilling.

Would it be useful for roasting marshmallows...?

thing, not really what we enjoy. I don't "do" fireworks that
well, especially the smoke so stayed inside when neighbors
    started shooting them off.
I tend to stay inside the camp to watch the ones at the Pond,
mostly, since the mosquitoes can be rather fierce.... I can
generally see well enough to appreciate the pretty display,
without so much smoke, noise or bites.... ;)
Inside is so much nicer! (G)
    Safer, anyway... ;)

Very much so. Steve found out something interesting about mosquitoes
the other day--they tend to prefer people with type O blood over
others. His is O; he gets eaten alive. Mine is B and they ignore me,
for the most part. Guess O tastes better. (G)

    Hmmmm.... mine is also O.....

BTW, did Linda ever get her knee surgery done?
Yes... It was over the winter, a year and a half ago... :)
Hopefully she recovered all she wanted to from it.
I think so... there's issues with the other leg now, forget if it's
    knee or hip....

Not fun. I had my last therapy session today but will continue with
home exercises. He said that in time, this will become my "good" knee.

He's probably thinking that at some time the other knee will succumb to
age and arthritis... ;) And this one has been rejuvenated...

Gave it a good work out walking around the sewing/quilting expo in
Raleigh yesterday so it was tired today--but not hurting. It did hurt
last night but woke up pain free this morning.

    Definitely good progress... :)

The team had some trouble with the church van while in VT but
were able to use alternate transportation while the van was
fixed. It was repaired in time for them to travel home without
    problem.
That was good... Probably Steve was missed more at that point,
    too... :)
Probably so. Probably should be thinking about replacing the
van in the not too distant future also.
Especially when it tends to have issues on long trips....

I think the noise is, they will rent for now.

    That's a way to handle it... :)

    Another shower coming up soon...?
Have to ask the pastor's wife but I will be working on the quilt
soon. Only 2 blocks to make for the current one but will begin
    cutting this week.
Might as well have it ready ahead of time if possible... :)
Shower is set for August 9; I've got pieces cut, just need to
    assemble now.
Should be done in time.... :)

Yes, I worked on it some on Tuesday, will do more probably later today
    and finish it next week.

    Got it finished now...?

It worked out quite well. Got some more blueberries at the
farmer's market so will be doing something with them in the next
    couple of days.
    Jam...? Cobbler....?
Blueberry lemon bars, just eating and maybe another batch of
muffins. If not the latter, just freeze them.
    All sound yummy... ;)

I made a pound cake with some of the berries (like the strawberry one
I did at the Shipps in 2017)--it's maybe even better than the
    strawberry one was. (G)

    Tasty.... :)

Maybe but this one is more "for pretty". It burns propane, flames come

And didn't keep you on your feet too long... :)

No, it was only 4 pieces. I ended up putting the 2 pork tenderloins
(still wrapped) in the same bag, just left extra head room to reseal
it after I take one out.

    Made sense.... :)

Especially when it tends to have issues on long trips....
I think the noise is, they will rent for now.
    That's a way to handle it... :)
And starting a van replacement fund in the meantime.
    Good thinking.... :)
Have to check and see if there's a line item in the budget for
that. If not, suggest that the next budget add it in.
Sometimes instead of a line item in the budget, there's a separate
section for special funds... I'd imagine any donations to it would
have to be specially designated... :)

Probably so, have to see when the budget for the new year comes out.

    Yup.

    Got it finished now...?
Yes, finished but not yet wrapped.
And now, wrapped, delivered, unwrapped, and no doubt greatly
    appreciated... ;)
Yes, baby was born late last night so she may come home in it.
Pretty close timing there... :) Did she come home in it...?

Don't know, haven't talked to the family yet.

Have they shown up in church yet...?

I made a pound cake with some of the berries (like the
strawberry one I did at the Shipps in 2017)--it's maybe even
better than the strawberry one was. (G)
    Tasty.... :)
Very much so. I'll do another with the berries on hand for the
    LG meal upcoming on Sunday.
I'm sure that went over quite well... :)
Very much so, especially with the ice cream topping.
    Very nice.

Fresh berries are very enjoyable this time of year. We've got a good supply of blueberries in the freezer now for colder weather use.

Might as well enjoy them when they are in season... :) And good to put
up for when they aren't... :)

    Hi Nancy,

Not that much of a heat generator except in the immediate area
but does help keep the bugs away. We've also got tiki torches
and table top tiki lamps that help keep bugs at bay.
I suppose that keeping the bugs at bay redeems the bauble
    some... (G)

Yes, that is a big plus, for you and others who seem to be mosquitoes favorite food.

Yup. As long as it works.... (G)

Hopefully by the end of September they won't be much of a problem
anyway. We'll probably spray the yard with something to keep them at bay
    also.

We're still in what's considered peak season and there's a lot of
activity so I'm checking the forecast every day. Right now it looks like
we may have a bit of rain, highs in the mid to upper 80s but not as
humid as peak of summer temps. That will be fine tuned next week and
    I'll keep all updated.

I've not made it in a long time; probably for a wedding at church some
years ago was the last time I did. It was a simple one--equal parts
white grape juice and lemon lime soda with lime sherbert floated in it.
We used it for Rachel's wedding in AZ--easy but refreshing on a hot day.

they defrost, mush doesn't matter... easier to deal with in your
punch glass while drinking from it... :)
True, but I don't make punch that often. (G)
Nor do I.... It was only at Elder Christmas, and other family
gatherings... And lately, other people have taken that over, or
haven't felt the need for punch to be available any more... :)

I've not made it in a long time; probably for a wedding at church some years ago was the last time I did. It was a simple one--equal parts
white grape juice and lemon lime soda with lime sherbert floated in
it. We used it for Rachel's wedding in AZ--easy but refreshing on a hot day.

Mine were a little more... but basically the same, fruit juice (both
frozen concentrate and bottled) with ginger ale... sherbet floated in
it, along with frozen berries... no need for an ice ring... ;)

    Hi Nancy,

We're still in what's considered peak season and there's a lot of
activity so I'm checking the forecast every day. Right now it looks
like we may have a bit of rain, highs in the mid to upper 80s but not
as humid as peak of summer temps. That will be fine tuned next week and I'll keep all updated.

    I'm packing sundresses... ;)

But throw in an umbrella, just in case...............
