The thing is their way, one makes no bones about
    drinking for, er, therapeutic purposes.
Alcoholic seltzer is only good for getting hammered.

    Yeah. Therapeutic purposes.

Probably, but I've known some truly absent-minded folks who
    weren't
    senile and yes they would....
Early onset Alz, or just looniness?
Generally the latter, occasionally the former.

At my high-school gathering I discovered that
the ditzy ones have gotten ditzier, and by and
large the bright ones have gotten ditzier.

They're weird, but then I'll eat anything not trying to climb off
    my
    plate.
A good tofu, if not the most inspiring food in the
world, is a quite pleasant and tasty thing.
It tastes better than boneless skinless chicken and has a better
    texture.

I tend to concur, unless the chicken is bashed,
battered, and deep=fried. Others here seem to
    disagree.

Even the more paranoid of that lot admit that
the chances of some gentile spitting into their food
    are minimal.
These days yes, but now it's also a habit.

A habit reinforced by hundreds of years
    of rabbinical judgment.

Oh, come on, do you know of a drug that messes
one's taste buds as much as (say) zucchini?
Some chemo drugs. Anesthesia will do a number on you too. Voice of experience.

I've not tried most of the chemo drugs. General
anesthesia, well, to me zucchini are worse.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.00

    1 lb Fresh Summer Squash
    1 c Onions/shallots--chopped
    1/4 c Mushrooms
    1/2 c Quick oats
    1 ea Egg--beaten
    Salt & Pepper to taste
    1 ts Salt

    1/4 c Pimento
    3/4 c Milk
2 ea Hard cooked eggs, chopped
    Ritz crackers, crumbled

Saute celery, shallots, mushrooms and pimento. Add to squash. Add
remaining ingredients, except cracker crumbs and place mixture in
buttered casserole. Bake at 400 F. for 15 min. Remove from oven,
cover with Ridz cracker crumbs and bake additional 15 min.
Source unknown. Instructions are missing an essential final step:
To serve, scrape off the "Ridz" crackers and put on a serving
    plate; discard zucchini.

    Yeah. Therapeutic purposes.

    That's the excuse at least.

    Ditziness is contagious.

Easier to cut up for cooking too.

They might not be, after anesthesia. At least for a while.
