• 156 jewelry and first flight

I hate jewelry enough that I'd be willing
to risk death rather than wear any.
Another reason to like multi-featured cell phones; you can get throw
    away your wrist watch.

I'm not willing to sacrifice my modicum of privacy
fot convenience, something sorely taxed by Lilli
having forgotten her phone, so I have to put up this
week with her discomfort at my lifestyle.

    Peas are pretty carby, though.

... It's easy and delicious, and a classic in at least one household.

    I have my doubts!

I remember my first flight but not the airline's name.
My family was driving from Cobden to Kirkland Lake, a 300 mile trip,
when I was six for the summer. Dad stopped half way in North Bay and
dropped Mom, me and my next oldest brother off at the airport just
for the experience and then continued driving with the two youngest
ones. The 150 mile flight was in a DC3 and I still remember the
thrill of take off and landing. I also got a window seat by myself
across the aisle form Mom and my brother, so it was almost like
    being by myself.

Your father no doubt relished the day's
solitude as well as you liked the flight.

The next flight wasn't until I was 12 and the family flew by jet
from Ottawa to Florida for Christmas with my American aunt and uncle
    at Daytona Beach.

No flights between 1955 and 1965, when I was
more interested in the cuteness of the flight
attendants than the flight itself. By 1969
I'd grown enough so they were trying to pick
me up, which might have had an influence on
my chosen mode of transportation thenceforth.

This was made for me as close to this recipe as
makes no difference in Brussels - I'd been with
Lilli, who had been sufficiently put off by my
previous day's dinner of deviled pigs' trotters
(delicious) that I resolved to dine just a tad
more conservatively in the next few days.

These days, the diversity and age range of flight attendents has
certainly increased. Plus, there are at least a few who you would not
relish being hit on (e.g. males).

Here is some pork for you. I'm not quite sure how one cuts pork ribs
into two inch lengths though. Bone saw?

Currently flight attendants are not picked for the Hooters barmaid qualifications. But they used to were. After the RN era. The original
flight attendant was a male named Heinrich (last name escapes me) who
served on Zeppelins - including the Hindenberg - escaping the famous
fire by jumping out through a window.

These days, the diversity and age range of flight attendents has
certainly increased. Plus, there are at least a few who you would

Until 1930 flight attendants were exclusively male and called stewards
or (by the Brits) cabin boys. Then Loo's favourite airline hired Ellen
Church, an RN, and the rest, as they say, is history. Having an RN for
quite some time was a requirement to be a stewardess. Being cute and
having a high jiggle factor helped, too,

Don't be sure that some of the male FAs wouldn't relish being hit upon.
Some of them are "light in their loafers".

Same way they turn a pork butt into pork steaks - band saw. Seriously.
It looks just like the band saw you'd see in a wood-working shop. But,
    I'll bet, it's kept cleaner. Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Smothered Pork Steaks
Categories: Five, Pork, Mushrooms, Sauces, Vegetables
    Yield: 4 Servings

    4 Pork steaks; 3/4" thick
1 lg Onion; sliced, diced coarse
10 3/4 oz Can cream of mushroom soup
    4 oz Can sliced mushrooms;
    - drained
    1/2 tb Horseradish; opt
    Oil for browning

Season steaks with your favorite seasoning.

Heat oil in large frying pan over high heat. Brown
steaks on both sides on high.

Chop onion & add with mushrooms & cream of mushroom
soup to chops. Reduce heat to low & cover. Simmer over
low heat for 1 to 1 1/4 hour. If using horseradish you
can add that about 1/2 way thru cooking time and mix
into the soup & onion mixture. It just adds a little
kick but you do NOT need to use it.

Remove steaks to dinner plates and stir the soup/onion/
mushroom mix together for gravy. Excellent served over
wide egg noodles or dumpling noodles.
