One could imagine a molecular chef doing
something rude like making a wobbly gel
that tasted like a steak. It's the sort of
clever irritating thing one might do.
Not sure that I want to imagine that.... :) Not even as a substitute should one be toothless and want something resembling a steak....
Those gastropeople aren't playing to the likes
of us. Myself, I'd prefer something that crunched
like a potato chip and tasted like a steak.
I'd just prefer the steak.... :)

Are you fond of toffee? Yes, and toffee in
moderation is a capital thing. But to live
on toffee - toffee for breakfast, toffee
for dinner, toffee for tea - to have it
supposed that you care for nothing but
toffee, and that you would consider
yourself insulted if anything but toffee
were offered to you - how would you like that?
    - Gilbert and Sullivan, Patience

[This argument does not apply to Lilli.]

That's a bit over-reactive... After all, you didn't say they were bad, just that next time they could be better.... ;)
She used to teach psychology and music at Longy. Social
scientist and musician at once. Temperamental much?
Not quite a given.... After all, I'm both a counselor and a musician (including teaching piano), and I don't think I'm all that
    temperamental... :)

I read "reaching pizza." You are perhaps an
    exception rather than the rule.

Yesterday, in a modest overreaction, she made yet
another batch of those spice cookies omitting the
soda altogether. Turns out they were among the best
hermitoid things (not hermits - no raisins) I've had.
So maybe now she'll just leave out the soda....?

Considering that it looks as if Armand Hammer
wrote the recipes in the first place ... .

... For people who like peace and quiet: a phoneless cord.
    Now there's an idea.
It has a certain appeal to it.... particularly on the days when the
phone rings off the hook with stupid calls.... ;)
Sometimes deafness would seem to be a boon.
Indeed. SOW, has Bonnie explored the possibility of cochlear
implants....? I've a friend who was profoundly deaf that got them, and
found it helped immensely.... and I was recently reminded that they are
not just for those who've been deaf all their life.... and thought of Bonnie.... ;)

    And old man Swisher too.

    ... They're not leftovers, they're frozen assets!

Better than if they were liquid ones, unless
    they started off as soup.
