New York extra sharp Cheddar (packed for DeMoulas,
Tewkesbury, MA, no age statement or florid description)
    - pretty good cheese, especially for the price and
given that it doesn't make any world-beating claims.
Modestly funky Cheddar aroma, on the palate a bit tart,
followed by (perhaps a little too) creamy. Texture
creamy and bordering on gummy-underage, a slight minus
for an extra-sharp. Nice melt. Probably a year or a bit
over, worthwhile all-around utility cheese, especially
    at $5 for a 1 1/2 lb slab.

Really Aged Cheddar )packed for Harman's Cheese and
Country Store, Sugar Hill, NH) - "This is a natural,
premium grade, Cheddar Cheese, proclaimed by
connoisseurs, coast to coast, to be "The World's
Greatest." Made in New York State from first grass
whole milk and slowly aged for 2 full years, it should
keep 4 weeks in your refrigerator, wrapped air tight.
Always serve at room temperature for full flavor."
My take is a decently sharp cheese, not too pungent,
clean, a little crumbly, beginning to go crystalline.
Okay melt, This goes for $9.50/lb.

Johnsonville Polish kielbasa - from the famous
Wisconsin sausage company, it's just an okay hot dog
in the guise of a Polska. The label claims that it's
made with "100% premium pork," and though the list of
ingredients claims "less than 2%" of various
relatively wholesome things, I've no reason to
question that. The texture is too fine-ground and
soft - a sausage this fatty should have some body
to it, and the spicing is too frankish, and not
Kosher-frankish at that, Would be much improved by a
bumping of the seasonings, especially pepper and
garlic. Also, it exuded too much liquid to brown
easily, and then after the fat was expressed, it
started to burn too quickly in a hot-doggy way. For
some reason Market Basket was selling off all sorts of
sausage on a steep sale, and this one was a reputable
(hah) brand available in a reasonable-size pack for
cheap. I ahould probably have gone for another brand.
    About 2.50 for a 12 or 13 oz package.
