• 28 Milk duds

It was easy for me to save up for lunch, because
even then I found milk dubious in taste and effect.
On rereading I came up with "milk duds untasty,"
    which isn't true.
Certainly not for me. It used to be one of my favorite candy
selections. Another was Zero bars. Both of them still exist, but seem
to have lost popularity and are not as available as they once were.

Now that they're not covered in real chocolate,
their appeal is less. Same with Whoppers, which
are also now made by Hershey.

We would probably 86 the sauce and just make the meatballs.
    Title: Bbq Meatballs

Then they wouldn't be bbq! Okay, so they're
    not anyway.

    -MEATBALLS:
    2 lb Ground beef
    1 lb Bulk pork sausage
    1 sm Onion, finely chopped
    1 c Milk

Kidding on the milk? That's 1/2 lb of
the white stuff to 3 lb of meat.

    1 Egg, lightly beaten
    2 c Dry bread crumbs
    2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Pepper
    1/2 ts Ground allspice (I use a 1/4
    -tsp.)

If you're not going to have a sauce to
disguise it, allspice at all would be too
    much. I'd substitute something else - a
    standard green herb perhaps.

    -SAUCE:
    1 tb Oil
    1/4 c Onion, minced
    8 oz Tomato sauce
    1 tb Lemon juice
    1 tb Brown sugar
    1 1/2 ts Sugar
    1 ts Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 ts Dry mustard
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/8 ts Pepper

But I agree, I'm not sure about this sauce.

    Homemade Whopper Candy - Malted
    Categories: copycat, sweet
    Servings: 25

    8 oz white chocolate
1 c instant malted milk powder
12 oz semisweet or milk chocolate, melted

Melt white chocolate and mix in malted milk powder.
Shape into 1" balls. If your balls turn into
    patties, add more malt.

Dip in melted chocolate and allow to set.

Note: Sometimes these turn out as malt patties
rather than perfect balls. Don't worry. They
    still taste like Whoppers.
