• 8 Dean Martini

Mr. Martin would be horrified if he was alive today.
I'm sure he'd have been pickled enough not to care
It's said that in real life his habits were more moderate than his
    public persona suggested.

I couldn't imagine any of those guy's life
being moderate. Maybe by contrast to Sinatra,
    Jerry Lewis, and Sammy Davis.

    The Dean Martini
30 ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
    45 ml Aperol
That's a large amount of Aperol. I'm guessing
that 4.5 mL (a scant teaspoon) would be enough.
I was thinking that it was a typo and the drink calls for 15 ml,
same as the vermouth. 2:1:1 is a classic ratio for similar drinks.
That's how I plan to make my first one should I ever have Aperol on
    hand.

The stuff as I recall isn't worth seeking
out on its own, though relaxing in a sidewalk
cafe after dealing with Lilli I found an
    Aperol spritz refreshingly welcome.

This is meaty, diabetic friendly and gluten free. It's fairly
low carb but the various vegetables will have to be cut back by a
third to meet keto diet targets.

My kind of food, my kind of amendment!

... The bitters are excellent for your liver, the gin is bad for you.
... They balance each other. - Orson Welles on the Negroni
