seldom cared to have my performances recorded
and am surprised (sometimes pleasantly) when it
comes to my attention that someone has done so,
but I'm kind of the exception.
If it was an enjoyable concert experience overall, it's nice to re-live
the event somewhat by hearing the music again.

Not for me. What, never? No, never. What,
    never? Well ... hardly ever!

So if someone wins a session but goes bust in
another, s/he gets to keep the swag from the
    previous one(s)?
Yes, plus whatever money they won (depending on where they placed) that
day. All minus taxes, of course.

    That last goes without saying.

Of course, few of us have the resources and
opportunity to do frontline research. It's our
task to weigh the published evidence and make
    our decisions based on that.
Most often I'll let Steve do the research. He'd read about Pfaff's one
line of sewing machines having problems/being discontinued; I'd not read about it so was a bit surprised to find out about it. Steve had thought
that we'd probably be trading my machine, as we did, last week. The new
one appears to have a better track record.

    Also a Pfaff?

But health care is not a spectator sport!
No, not really but some people seem to think it is.
I wonder if there's any research on whether
proactiveness or lack thereof affects length
and quality of life. I would guess yes, but
there are paradoxes in this world.
I'd say there probably is, to some extent. As a general rule, probably
the more proactive you are with your life oveall, and health especially,
the better off you probably are. But, then there are some people who
don't do anything "right" and live to be a good old age, with minimal
issues. One of those "go figure" situations.

They may fall down in some departments but must
be doing something right in others.

November weather here is iffy--some days would be ideal for grilling
and > eating outside, others are better for staying inside, curled up with a > book. (G)
Let's rule out November for the foreseeable ever.
Agreed, unless we all decide to move to a location where the weather is
good in November. Shall we all move to Oahu and have a luau picnic? (G)

    O ... kay.

I've seen that too, with frozen flaky pastry
    dough doing the heavy lifting.
Makes it easy for the cook.
That's the whole point of those products.
Yes, and I'm using a few of them myself. Some are home made knock offs
like the baking mix for Bisquick.

Bisquick is easily knock-offable, and if
you use fresh instead of stablilzed
ingredients, you get a better result for
not much expenditure of time and hardly
    any of money.

    Simple Chabad-Style Charoset
Can't get much easier than this.
Leave out the wine, and it'd be simpler.
And taste just as good, just a bit different.

I suspect that the wine improves the flavor; there'
s no liturgical reason for its being there.

    Green apple foam
    categories: beverage, ingredient, New York
    yield: 1 batch

450 g Granny Smith apple juice
    10 g citric acid
    120 g granulated sugar
    5 g gelatin

In a bowl, combine all ingredients. Stir and pour
into an iSi canister, and charge once before
    using to top a drink.

Naturlich! The store sells them and Vikings; owner knows how/what I sew
so pointed me toward a machine that fit that profile.

And eventually fall down & can't get up.

The main ingredient in it is the flour; we grind our own. Other stuff I
have to rely on getting it as fresh as I can. It uses salt (not a lot),
dry milk, baking powder and oil or some sort of solid fat.

    Probably a flavor booster then.
