Speaking of chill and unchill dogs. We were at the
release party for Ramona Ranch, and the new winery pet,
some kind of sheepdog I think, Ella by name, butted up
against a propane heater. Of course she started to burn
up, and the humans in the vicinity, including me,
started freaking. The dog, though, just stood there
sniffing at her butt, which was on fire. That resolved
itself shortly, but whoa.
Balti sauce or base gravy
categories: British, Indianish, sauce
servings: 4
3 Tb oil
4 chopped onions
2 cm peeled and grated fresh ginger
l lg crushed and peeled garlic clove
1 ts The Birmingham Balti Garam Masala
1 ts paprika
1/2 ts chile powder
1 ts tumeric
1 ts ground coriander
1 ts chile powder
1 lg grated tomato
1 ts salt
1 handful of chopped coriander
300 ml water
Heat the oil in a large pan over a moderate heat
then add the onions, ginger and garlic, stirring
regularly until onions are translucent. Add the
tomato and stir into the mixture, then add the
water and all the other ingredients, give it all
a good stir and bring to the boil. Cover and
simmer on low heat for 30 min. Allow to cool
completely then blitz in a blender/food processer
until smooth.
