didn't say much; I have many friends who are almost
as eminent (Helen among them) but who don't have the
supreme self-confidence to ignore that sort of thing.
Probably makes for a more copesetic existence to just ignore such people... :) After all, he has nothing to have to prove... :)
Those of us with something to prove may get
    a bit huffy, though.
I suppose... or just learn to smile sweetly and ignore.... ;)
But for the nearly great, that's tough to do.

Makes for a quieter existence, though... ;)

Then there are the ones (mostly acquaintances rather
than friends) who spend their lives being important,
    like this one.
    Yup.
She got put on our board of directors as
well. Wouldn't be surprised if she had
    special new business cards made.
That's the sort that do think they have something to prove.... ;)
I had a business card once, but it died.

When the kid was still in highschool, one of his rotations in shop was printing, so he printed me some business cards for my piano teaching...
I probably have some of those stashed away, maybe even one in my
wallet.... ;) Only business cards I've ever had.... ;)

I don't mind raunch, even disgusting raunch,
if nobody is actually hurt. If it ends up
smelling bad, all bets are off.
I don't know what it may have progressed to by now....
    Probably smelling bad.

    That would be my guess...

And probably something not to be done until
your shots are up to date.
Maybe nowadays... Back then, even the debris afterwards was all pretty clean, just like the audience participation...
It might also have been the neighborhood.
At the time, it was the only place in town that was showing it... so the participants came from all over... It really was a long time ago, now...
In a lot of places they quit showing it and
then revived it as retro or classic or something.

And went back to the original audience participation....?

of heavy cream. Then you use your best nonstick
pan to make the crepes with. It's not genius
material but always makes people impressed and
happy (you took all this trouble for me?)
Hopefully it all went well... :)
I inquired and got no response. That may
indicate an interruption in the mail, but
it may mean it didn't go so well as all that.
Or just someone not getting around to answering mail...?
Neither; as it turns out a report was sent
and I never received it, a somewhat suspicious
    circumstance in itself.

That's not so good, either.... And did it go well after all, then...?

And played in Miles Davis' and Dizzy Gillespie's
jazz bands, orchestras, and the Metropolitan Opera.
    A very versatile musician.
Nicely diverse... and indeed versatile... :)
More than almost everyone I know. My friends
tend to be multitalented, but Gunther was way
    up there.

When you were describing him, I thought of Gunther, but I thought you
were talking in present tense, and I know he's no longer with us...

At this point I'll take pretty much any gig
but am not desperate enough to go pounding
    the pavement.
Good that you aren't that desperate... :)
Had some serious issues recently, with my
credit card denied while I was in Singapore.
It's back to normal now, I hope.
Hopefully. Any clue as to why the denial...?
No clue, and it happened again, but I jawed
it out with them and fixed it. Not sure what
    is going on.

    That's a bit scary....
