Definitely an after surgery/recovery job now.... :) As long as you
can find what you need to fix for supper, that'll have to do for
    now... :)

Yes, and the weather will be better in a couple of months too. We'll
open the back door to snake a drain hose out of it, would rather do it
in warmer temps than colder. (G)

With the platform I built to put the freezer on when I did the flooring
job, it will now be easy to put a drain pan under the drain since it is
no longer at floor level. However, we will still need to wait until we
are physically capable of hauling everything out and then reloading it.

So did you get the freezer up on the platform as part of your flooring
job, or is that part of what's waiting for the freezer to be emptied
out....? And do you expect that the drain pan will hold all the liquid
from a defrost, or would you still need to send some out the hose to the
    back yard....?

I did it as part of being able to move it around for the flooring job.
The platform has wheels so it is easy to move. Two of them have locks so
it won't move unless we want it to.

Usually, I try to catch the big chunks of frost build-up as it warms and
the ice loosens. I have a plastic tool I can use to encourage that which
will not damage the inside of the freezer. It is one that is used on
auto dashboards. I Once I get the big chunks, then the rest will fit
    into a drain pan easily.

Ah... that should work well... :) I wasn't sure if it would have been
too heavy to get up on the platform in the first place when fairly
loaded, but I guess you were able to accomplish that... did you get some
    help lifting it...?

I used a dolly to help tilt it up to get the one side on and then slid
the rest into place. It worked okay.

Ok, that worked... :) Richard would likely have done similar... :)
