Well, there are those of us for whom
profit was not the main motivator.
Yup... :) Present company being among them... :)
I'd rather there were more of us. Too much "apres
vous mon cher Gaston," though, and nothing gets
done. There is a happy medium, but we're not there
    yet, I'm pretty sure.
True, there needs to be a balance of taking care of others and one's
self... but that doesn't really change the basic outlook... :)

Problem is that with most even well-meaning
people the focus is much more on doing well
    than on doilg good.

Health issues of various sorts (not mental, so
down, boys) and some pretty urgent potential
obligations regarding my other people. 4X, I
spent part of today wheeling Lilli around.
She had never been in a wheelchair before.
Precautionary measure, or needed to get around...? I take it a trip

She couldn't take a step without apparently
severe pain. Now she's back and sent an
e-mail touting good news, but the good
news was that she has been approved for
all kinds of physical therapy. I'm with
    Bonnie now, and that's another story;
returning to Lilli's in a week.

here is being pushed further down the priority list....?

It'll happen, but I have fairly pressing
obligations of various sorts at the moment.
There may be leftover bits of time for echo
people this year, but concerns are concerns.

The thing is if something is a bad match,
it should be fixed as soon as possible,
for everyone's benefit. There may be a
small sad minority who would fit in badly
no matter where they were, but that's what
    welfare is for.
What's bad, though, is when it is rather obvious to most that it is a
bad match... except to the person him or herself..... ;0

I hate to say it, but that's what getting
    fired is for.

Toss-up, sometimes.... my one sister was like that, putting down just about everyone, her husband, our then pastor, anyone in sight sometimes, and thought it witty... not sure how much she's mellowed, I don't have that much contact with her any more (she's the one in UK)....
    Brexit - serves her right.
Not sure where she stands on that issue, either....

And anyhow I guess international politics is
almost as much a no-no as domestic.

If you can get young enough ginger so it
isn't all woody and terrible, go for it.
This was fine, not at all woody... :) Very tasty.... :)
I tend to buy woodier ginger for flavoring
(big chunks) or young, preferably almost green,
for mixing in (shavings or slivers).
The young is probably easier to sliver, as well as to slice... :)

Actually, that's doubtful. Any decent knife can
make quick work of ginger even at the extreme
far end of edibility. In fact, woody is very
easy to deal with because it offers reasonable
resistance, helping control the size of the cuts.

A lot of wwtt in this world. Sometimes
I cause it. Not that frequently, I hope.
That's probably the best we can do... hope that we aren't being too wwtt ourselves.... ;)

People should be a lot more careful
when doing good than they tend to be.

... How do musicians commit suicide? By jumping off a clef!
    They use Classical Gas.
Brass players never die, they just blow away.
    Cute, both of them.... :)
... You have to ask children and birds how cherries and strawberries taste

Overstatement, I think. And anyhow, you have
to ask very old people how strawberries should
    taste.

Ouch, but good on the PT.... hopefully that will be of value...

    Is Bonnie doing ok...?

Ok... I'm overdue on checking up on Fords.... will try to get to that
    sometime soon....

And the counter to that is probably that that's what tenure's for.... I
suppose one could pray for an early retirement to occur.... :)

I'll take your word for that, not being that accomplished a knife
    wielder....
