Of course it doesn't taste like real bacon. Neither does Canadian
Bacon. That is why I think that it is good in its own right and not as
a "substitute" for bacon. They are, despite having similar appearances
as thin slices, not the same product.
Put it that way, I'll agree with you.... even though I don't much care
for the taste of turkey ham or turkey bacon... :) It's like comparing
carob and chocolate, for instance.... they don't really substitute for
each other, but for some things, carob is quite nice... :)
