They never did trust him with being a real cop, so
Never knew what he might have done in some instances?
In his case I suspect it would be doing too
    little rather than too much.
OK, you know the guy, I don't.
As I said, he's kind of geeky and awkward, not
outwardly exhibiting an overplus of hormonal
imbalance; a couple decades of adulthood hasn't
    changed that much.
But obviously in a job he can/does do well.

    One hopes.

If they want to do well, they'd best learn something!
I've not heard of any SWAT meltdowns in his
    police department.
    That's always a good thing.
Too many gray areas to discuss all the ins/outs of, without getting
    way > off echo topic.
You needn't remind me, but in my view a certain
skating on thin ice is perfectly okay. This does
not mean chopping holes in same in the hopes that
    someone falls in.
I'll try to skate towards thicker ice.

My admonition is merely don't fall in.

We were introduced to them by a friend in Germany when we were discussing an Austrian carol. Found CDs in the PX and have bought
more > over the years. Saw them in concert in Savannah.
Did they have a full string section at
    the concert you attended?
TBH, I don't remember; it was almost 11 years ago and I'd just finished
an extended course of radiation. Not quite fried brain but..........

For me, of course it's a question of professional
interest. For the average viewer, not so much,
although I used to play for a theater that alternated
real and canned accompaniments for its productions,
and when we left after the performances, people
would come up to us and say how glad they were to
see live musicians for a change.

Those don't fit into the manly profession part! Well, sausage, maybe.
It's grilling, isn't it? There was a restaurant
    (didn't last > ML> too > ML> long)
Chicken doesn't count. Vegetables don't count.
    They do in our house.
Perhaps you don't have the proper manly mindset.
    I should hope not!
Heh. It's pleasing to be able to synthesize
it when required, though. Stereotypes may
come into play, but if a modicum of care is
taken not to offend, that's probably okay too.
I try not to offend but also give/take some things with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek.

Just so the others see that cheek clearly.

I was shocked to see that bento boxes are
becoming common in Chinese restaurants, too,
especially in Singapore, but it makes sense
    - people get a bunch of tastes and fill up
well on possibly less food overall.
Good way for a restaurant to use up odds and ends of stuff too--"we made
too many sushi, fried sweet potato, tempura'ed veggies, etc so will toss
them into a fancy divided container and call it a bento box". (G) The
ones we get usually have similar to the above plus a scoop of rice and a
good serving of whatever meat you've ordered with it.

A proper box will have carefully chosen ingredients
that harmonize. Premade sushi is mostly a bad idea
    so doesn't harmonize with anything.

OTOH, we will, most likely, do it some time this winter.
You could add vegetables to it and make
    it into cholent green.
    I could, but would I?
If you were cooking for a punsters' literary
    dinner, you might.
    I very well could.
I like to eat lighter when I'm asleep. Just
kidding, I never like to eat lighter.
    I do, and will.

    See below, if you dare.

    Old Faithful's behavior has substantially
changed during our time on this planet.
Quite, thanks to earthquakes and suchlike in the region.

As one would expect, as its existence is
    essentially a seismic phenomenon itself.

Equal didn't work. I wonder if Splenda would.
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, going to try it?

The possibility was there yesterday, but
I forgot - probably not important to me.

    Clams and Mussels Posillipo
Hmmmmmmmmm, serve on pasta for a main dish?

Sure one could, if one weren't counting carbs.

    Galilee Green "Cholent" Soup
    categories: poultry, main, wwtt
    servings: 3

    2 potatoes
    1 celery stalk
    1 onion
    1 sweet potato
    1/2 butternut squash
    2 carrots
    3 chicken drumsticks
    2 Tb olive oil
    2 ts hawaij (see note)
    3 cloves garlic
    1 Tb salt
    1 sm bn dill
8 c water or to cover

Clean and chop vegetables into bite size chunks

Place chicken, garlic and oil into the crockpot.
Add the chopped vegetables to the pot. Add water
to cover the vegetables to 1 in below the top
of the pot. Mix in spices and stir.

Switch the crockpot on HIGH. Cook until 10 min
before lighting Shabbos candles. Lower the
temperature to LOW. Enjoy the next day for
    Shabbat lunch

Note: Combine equal amounts of cumin, curry and
tumeric to make a simple version of Hawaij.

I'll try not to, got enough other stuff on my plate to worry over how
close to thin ice I'm getting.

No, not really of interest for me. It was a night of celebration as I'd
had my last treatment earlier that day.

although I used to play for a theater that alternated
real and canned accompaniments for its productions,
and when we left after the performances, people
would come up to us and say how glad they were to

I'd rather see real than hear canned myself.

    Hopefully so.

It should, but sometimes you half wonder how they choose what goes into
    it.

No, probably doesn't matter in the greater scheme of life.

    Clams and Mussels Posillipo
Hmmmmmmmmm, serve on pasta for a main dish?

Sure one could, if one weren't counting carbs.

I watch, and with pasta, usually take a smaller than suggested serving
amount. Also pair it up with a green salad and, if needs be, add in some
    extra protein.
