Nice when one can just drive and the snow just blows off the car in
the first few minutes... ;)
Also can be quite dangerous when people do that. If light and powdery,
it has the possibility of blinding cars behind. If more crusty, it has
a strong possibility of letting loose as a block that can cause the car behind to panic. Much better to clear the car before starting out in every case.
Agreed that it's better .... and even better to park the ride under
cover so the windshield, roof and hood start out clear.
That seldom happens in my area. It's *much* more common to see people
aiming their vehicle down the lane squinting at the world through the
smallest possible aperture on their windshield - letting "nature" and
the defrosters take care of the offending frozen precipitation.
Heavens forfend that they'll ever be able to check the mirrors before
changing lanes. Rather they turn on the blinker for the direction in
which they wish to dart, let it blink three (maybe) times and c'mon
over. They seem to have either a guardian spirit or the survival wish
of those being cut-off is strong enough that brakes are applied, curse
words directed, and collision avoided.

Cheddar cheese; sour cream for topping.
Comments: Here's a quick and easy recipe you can serve
buffet style at a holiday get-together like the 4th of
July. This way each family member or guest gets to build
their own meal with their personal choice of toppings.
The sauce can be made in advance and then reheated or
frozen for later use.
