I noticed that there are now large
marshmallows out--something that I missed previously?
They're fairly new I guess.
Apparantly so. Supersize me mentality.
I've seen them for a couple of years now... I think the idea
is that it fills the s'more better... Seems like overkill to
me, too... ;)
Encourages the kids to develop their cravings for sugar faster too.
Or at least easier... I've known plenty of kids that would simply eat
the whole bag of the regular sized ones... ;)

I've not done it, we never bought a lot of marshmallows.
Only time we did get a lot was when we were heading to Switzerland
for the EBC annual meeting. We'd buy the marshmallows and graham
crackers at the commissary, the chocolate, of course in
Switzerland. (G) Had to make the s'mores over the camp (propane)
stove one year as it was too wet for a campfire.

We haven't either... we might have, decades ago when the kid was
little, but I don't we did then, either... ;) The only time we might
have
considered it would have been for Elder camping, but then, lots of
other people bring them, so we don't have to... ;)

IIRC, each of the families that camped in Interlaken brought a
bag or 2 plus a box of graham crackers. Made for plenty to share
with other campers. The year we did it on the camp stove, had a
couple of American teens who were raised in France (MKs) and
never had s'mores before. They had fun, as did their parents,
making and eating the goodies.

Very much so! The year before, somebody else brought some and the last night was passing the bag. Someone passed it over the fire and the
person taking it took just a second or two too long to grab it. Bottom melted, marshmallows got roasted rather quickly. (Other bags were
quikly brought out.)

Agreed, had several kids from other countries at the fire ring who
were experiencing their first marshmallows over a camp fire so wanted
to give them a good time.
We've got some graham crackers for our camping with grand kids this summer. Made a dessert for tomorrow's LG that needed one pack so I've still got 2 packs from the box yet. You would think somebody would
come up with a one pack box of them and market it.........after all,
how often do you need 3 packs of graham crackers at once?

Probably depends on how often one is eating graham crackers on their
own, how young the kids in the family are, etc.. Daddy used to bring graham crackers to church with him to give to whichever baby it was at
the time... graham cracker mush mushed into a suit coat brushes off
easily once it dries.... ;) We'd go thru a box quickly enough.... ;)

Quite so, but nobody was expecting the bag to melt in such a dramatic fashion.

OTOH, with the 5 of us kids, my parents only bought them when they
were needed for a recipe. Fussy babies got Zweiback. I made my own teething biscuits for Rachel, probably Deborah also but don't recall
for sure.

But Zweiback and teething biscuits tended to get dried into the suit,
and one couldn't easily brush it off... had to go to the drycleaners

carry them with her for a snack in her later years... and to eat along with

have the graham crackers. Will most likely use them on the trip with Rachel's family.
