    Hi Nancy,

I noticed that there are now large
marshmallows out--something that I missed previously?
    They're fairly new I guess.
    Apparantly so. Supersize me mentality.
I've seen them for a couple of years now... I think the idea
is that it fills the s'more better... Seems like overkill to
    me, too... ;)

Encourages the kids to develop their cravings for sugar faster too.

Or at least easier... I've known plenty of kids that would simply eat
the whole bag of the regular sized ones... ;)

Probably enough adults have done it as well. (G)

I've not done it, we never bought a lot of marshmallows. Only time we
did get a lot was when we were heading to Switzerland for the EBC annual meeting. We'd buy the marshmallows and graham crackers at the
commissary, the chocolate, of course in Switzerland. (G) Had to make the s'mores over the camp (propane) stove one year as it was too wet for a campfire.

IIRC, each of the families that camped in Interlaken brought a bag or 2
plus a box of graham crackers. Made for plenty to share with other
campers. The year we did it on the camp stove, had a couple of American

We've got some graham crackers for our camping with grand kids this

OTOH, with the 5 of us kids, my parents only bought them when
they were needed for a recipe. Fussy babies got Zweiback. I made
my own teething biscuits for Rachel, probably Deborah also but
    don't recall for sure.
But Zweiback and teething biscuits tended to get dried into the
suit, and one couldn't easily brush it off... had to go to the
drycleaners pronto... so Daddy opted for graham crackers... ;)

But, it was the teething biscuit my folks used with all 5 of us--you
would think they would have caught on after #1.

You'd think... but maybe your dad didn't hold the babies in church
like mine did... At home, the babies got the Zwieback and teething biscuits, just not in church....

Don't know, I didn't pay that much attention. I was 5 when the last one
    came along.

Mommy used to carry them with her for a snack in her later
years... and to eat along with her milk and/or "milkshake"... :)

    Milk and cookies............

    Essentially... :)

In grade school we used to have a mid morning snack of milk and graham crackers. Crackers came in (what seemed like) a big box, enough to serve
the class for a good while.

    do housework, cook meals, etc.

Exactly! Our campimg trip with Deborah didn't come off so we still have
the graham crackers. Will most likely use them on the trip with Rachel's family.

They're sitting in our kitchen, waiting to be reshelved until such time
as needed. Campground in MT had no suitable place to use them, one in NC
we were only there to sleep, eat breakfast (and lunch on last day) &
change clothes. Other nights were mostly W-M parking lots, one night at
    a truck stop.
