• Happy Thanksgiving

From Edith McKlveen@1:229/452 to All on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 22:13:30
I have been hearing from Nancy Backus now and then about
communications on the echo. I have not made attempts to post
anything because I have been incredibly distracted by:

--Neck problems (now being well-treated by a chiropractor)

--House revamping (putting together three bookcases--made by
Sauder, a U.S. company that makes good quality DIY furniture--has
    taken a month)

--Riding herd on fractious felines (three in my house and two outside)

I was moved to actually post by the season (American Thanksgiving now
hours away) and by my purchasing today a bag of Utz Kettle Classics
    Maui Barbecue Chips.

    WHAAAT?

The front of the bag says, "BBQ flavored" as well as "A Fusion of
Sweet and Sour." On the back, it says, "Bring home the taste of
Hawaii with the tangy of Utz Maui BBQ Kettle Classics Chips. These
chips are cooked in Peanut Oil to give them that true Pennsylvania
Dutch tradition of extra crunchy potato chips."

Asian Rim? More like Asian Grim.

These chips contain potatoes, peanut oil, sugar, sodium diacetate,
salt, torula yeast, dextrose, onion powder, autolyzed yeast extract,
citric acid, garlic poweder, paprika, paprika and tumeric extract,
    spice, natural smoke flavor.

I swear, vow, and or affirm that these very crispy chips have a hint
of sweetness but zero noticeable flavor, not even that of deep fried
    potatoes.

That said, it is rather comforting to know that Utz is a company that
produces a consistent product, because every one of their chips,
whatever flavor they are supposed to evoke, is indeed reliably crispy.

I hope that all echoers, or echoites, or whatever, are having a warm
and cozy November. If you will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week,
I hope you have lots of tasty treats and fun with friends and family.

And if it gets chilly around the dinner table, just throw some Utz
    chips in the fireplace.8^D

    Edith

We've got some of their products in our house as well. Steve was able to
    put them together without difficulty.

    Must be fun. (G)

We prefer the Hartley's brand, made in Lewistown, PA.

Our high tomorrow is supposed to be about 46 but we will be nice and
warm, celebrating Thansgiving with several families from church. Steve
has a couple of turkeys on the smoker; we're also bringing broccoli
salad, apple crisp and gravy, both gluten free and regular. We've also
got some veggies for a raw tray (will make up some sort of dip), mini
spice cakes (not made by me) and an apple pie (ditto) to take over.
There will be no lack of food. (G)

Probably the best place for them. (G) Enjoy your turkey and trimmings.
