In the distant past they had tours where one rode down on mules who knew
the way. Do they not do that anymore? An alternative might be a white
water raft trip down the river?
Neither of these would be too practical for me.
Some surprising people have done white-water
rafting, but I can't see myself in one of those.
Mules? When Lilli and I were on Molokai, the
mule trail down to the leper colony was washed
out, so we couldn't have done that even if we'd
wanted to (I breathed a not-so-secret sigh of
relief).

a bit of fat.
Vankaya Pappu (Brinjal Dal)
categories: side, vegan, Indian
Serves: 4
1 Tb Oil
1 Onion - chopped finely
1 Tomato - chopped finely
1 Brinjal - chopped finely
1 ts Chilli powder
1/2 ts Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 c Toor dal (tuvaram paruppu, yellow split peas)
1 c Water
2 tb Coriander leaves - chopped finely
Pressure cook toor dal with little turmeric till soft.
Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add onions, tomatoes and sa for
3 min. Add brinjal and mix well. Add salt, turmeric,
chilli powder and mix well. Add water and cook till
brinjal is done. Add in dal and mix well.
Simmer for 5 min. Add coriander and mix well. Serve.
