Indeed they must be. When I was at my most
immobile, the hospital used them, and they
    worked sort of.
I've noted that the good home health aides are more likely to know how
to get the best use from the drawsheets than most hospital staff... they almost always require the assist of two, while at home, one person can
do it just fine (including myself, actually)....

It's your focus and the resources you have to work
with. Certainly at the hospital, an aide is more
likely to have learned such skills than the RNs.

Here's something we hope they'll REALLY like.
Title: Sauteed Game Bird and Rabbit Livers
They probably would.... sometimes they surprise us by what they like and
then by what they turn their noses up at... ;)

Hard to tell, and attitudes do change in both directions.

True... although in my case, it's almost always a given.... ;)
The caring part, which I'd assume, or the being able
    to do anything?
Caring whether I might be able....
With me at least it's the ability that is to
    worry about.
It's getting to that point here, too...

    Large sighs.

"Never tell a man the truth about the one that
he adores." - Flanders and Swann, The Armadillo
I could imagine it. [Looking the girl up and
down] "You know what, John, she'll never do.
You'll live to regret this." As if.
In the past, a friend of mine has asked for my input on some new beau...
I answer honestly, knowing that she probably won't really listen at that point... but there have been a few that I had severe misgivings about... She's always come back to me later to say, yeah, you told me so... I
don't have to even say anything.... But if not asked, yeah, I keep my misgivings to myself generally....

You're painting the picture of someone who
looks too intensely and too often.

It was probably established during some
previous boom period. Some of Weggie's
success is that it has not been blindly
optimistic about the economics of a place.
Could well be.... and agreed on their willingness to be realistic about
    the economics...

The chain's good reputation seems to rest on
    the family's business astuteness.

I wonder how one could safeguard such programs
from the effects of their parents' bankruptcy -
    establishing an independent fund, perhaps.
The annuity pension was handled independently... so he still was able to
get that... not as full as it would have been had they kept him another
year or so, but still viable....

I don't understand any of that but glad that
the pension wasn't gutted the way a lot of
    them are these days.

But becoming odder all the time. The day will
come when insect protein will be standard fare,
    but mammalian game will not.
Hopefully not in my lifetime.... although I've nothing really against
    some insect supplementation... ;)

Just think of them as a bunch of nutrients.
Minimizing hunger worldwide is going to require
use of all resources, not just the traditional
ones or the ones that look beautiful.

Possibly... I've been surprised more than once at how handy some RNs
are.... but then, most of those started out as a patient tech....

Here's something we hope they'll REALLY like.

Cats are just hard to judge... :) Ours like breaded shrimp tails, but
not unbreaded.... no problem, we just won't share the latter with them anymore... ;)

You're painting the picture of someone who

When it's a fairly close friend, one does get put into a situation of
seeing a lot... And I can generally tell pretty quickly and without much
effort when someone really is slimy... She doesn't get herself into that
sort of situation any more though... she finally decided it wasn't worth
    the effort, hassle or pain....

It was probably established during some
previous boom period. Some of Weggie's

The chain's good reputation seems to rest on

And on their commitment to good customer service... but I suppose that
could be a part of the business astuteness, too... :)

The annuity pension was handled independently... so he still was able to

I don't understand any of that but glad that
the pension wasn't gutted the way a lot of
    them are these days.

When offered the chance to convert his original annuity-style pension to
the more modern 401K or similar, he didn't bite... decided to stay with
the original... that one doesn't grow very fast at the beginning, but
then has a steep upcurve in value as one approaches retirement... Since
they laid him off close to retirement age, it hadn't reached the peak,
but had started the climb... I think it ended up at 80% of the 50% of
salary it should have attained.... Still better than nothing...

Wegmans has something similar, but cold, on their hot/cold bar... I
don't think they added the nuts, but there are cranberries in it... I
get it every so often.... :)
