I didn't consider using it as an advantage.
Well since that trivial problem of my legs buckling when I stood/walked to much, I've been more aware of time spent in lines. It's embarrassing
    when you
end up facedown on the floor, unable to get up on your own, and bars
    haven't
opened yet. But that's behind me now.

It may be undignified, but there are those canes that
convert into folding stool thingys. I've been tempted
myself at times, though things are better for the
    time being.

I'm outta here tomorrow, Anchorage/Juneau/Seattle/Las Vegas. Two bags to check, one at exactly 49.0 pounds and the other lighter. I should be back online here in around 2 weeks.

Bon voyaggy. Did you get first?

    May Clark's Arizona chili
    categories: southwestern, not chili
    servings: 6

1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 lg green bell pepper, diced
    1 lg onion, diced
    1 garlic clove, minced
    3 Tb chili powder
    14 1/2 oz cn tomatoes
    1/2 c A-1 steak sauce
    1/2 c water
16 oz cn kidney beans, drained

Cook beef, green pepper, onion and garlic in heavy
saucepot over high heat, stirring frequently until
beef is browned, 15 min. Stir in chili powder; cook,
stirring, for 1 min. Drain and chop tomatoes,
reserving liquid. Add tomatoes and liquid, steak
sauce and water to beef mixture; heat to a boil.
Cover; reduce heat and simmer 45 min, stirring
occasionally. Stir in beans. Cover and simmer
    15 min more. Serve hot.

    Things are much better now.

I'm back. Took a bit longer than I expected. My backups were/are all encrypted. For some reason the password I used to create them, won't extract from them. So I called Anchorage and had somebody go into the place and do a couple of backups without the encryption. The one for the DOS directory was named DOH. The one for my home directory was named idiot.

To all. I got a car, not the kind I wanted, but close. It's a white 2009 Mercedes CLK550 coupe. I wanted a 350 convertible, but the Stones did a song about that. It's almost completely legal as of today. Titled, registered, and
insured, but no front plate (and no place to put one, yet). Fun to drive, seems quick, I've worked up enough courage to floor it a few times (but the RV park is right across the highway from the Sheriffs office....so...), and I'm now playing around with the paddle shifters. Surprising gas mileage given things.

Nice.... gotta find some open road away from bubble-light cars, and put
    it through its paces... ;)
