hotel-stayer plan, but lately it has gotten rid of
the budget labels I used and started pushing names
like Howard Johnson's. I'm no longer an elite member
    of the plan.
I can see where you lost your eliteness.. not enough stays to merit such... There were some things at the restaurants that were reasonably worthwhile and tasty... but, I'll admit, nothing I sought out... ;)
They had blueberry ice cream before anyone else did.
Were they also the first for pistachio ice cream...?

Pistachio was not interesting to me for a long time.
I thought it tasted kind of weird and artificial.

Oh, just a defect of judgment, not of character.
Pretty sure she wouldn't buy that either, but I'll accept that as reasonable... ;)
Is she extremely sensitive to bitter?
Dunno... maybe I'll ask her sometime.... :)

And then what's her attitude towards coffee?

We're apparently not in a diplomatic phase of
history, but there have been a couple of
    surprises so far.
Guess we just have to wait and see...

I just hope that any damage is easily reparable, and
that's probably all I should say about it.

Unless medical science gets a lot better really quick.
    Which is unlikely at best....
If the artificial heart had been a practicality,
    perhaps.
True... but it wasn't as useful as they'd hoped...

Something about getting all gunked up.

Sorry... anyway, I use the frowny wink somewhat as a
    representative of a
    fake pout... ;)
I'm not fond of pouts, fake or real.
    Not even in jesting...? ;)
Nah, I'm spectrum enough that it's sometimes hard
    to tell real from jest.
Ok... I'll try to keep that in mind...

In person things aren't so bad.

Roasted Peppers Pasta Salad with Charcuterie
Categories: Singaporean, pasta, main, Italian, fusion
    Servings: 2

    2 c rotini pasta
    2 c roasted coloured peppers
3 1/2 Tb sundried tomato pesto
    4 Tb EVOO
    charcuterie
    - I used a mix of prosciutto, coppa and salami
    250 g arugula leaves
    handful fresh basil leaves

Toss roasted peppers with oil and pesto.

Boil pasta in salted water till 1 min before
cooking instructions for al dente. Drain into
cool water and toss with pesto mixture.

Assemble salad, starting with the arugula and
    basil, followed by the pasta-peppers-pesto
medley, and finished with as much chacuterie
    as you like.

Did it taste different to you than the nuts on their own did...? It was
my aunt Jackie's favorite ice cream... I tried it because of her, and
    decided I liked it...

I'm sure she used to drink it, not sure if she still does....

Maybe they'll solve that eventually... but at least instead they made
strides in fixing the existing ones... and, to some extent, in
    transplants...
