I'm not laughing. The Whole Foods way of
getting people to buy overpriced chicken is to
put it near the grossly overpriced real meat.
That would make no difference to us. We have been in the Columbia Whole Foods exactly once, and don't plan to repeat the experience.
I'm against the predatory corporation

eco-friendly and so on. I'm also against
paying twice the price for merchandise
that isn't much if any better.

Interesting.
The skills are easily enough gotten through
practice, but most people don't bother. So
it is with telling tastes apart, red wine
from white, and so on.
I can tell Merlot from most other reds since it falls into the category
of "don't like". I probably could distinguish most reds from most
whites without looking -- but I'm sure you could arrange a test to fool
me.
A dry robust white might be able to be
confused with a lighter, low-tannin red, if
served at the same temperature.
As far as Merlot goes, I could probably find
one that you'd like. The best wine I ever
tasted was 100% Merlot, but much of the
wine-drinking population thinks it's a
Cabernet or a Cabernet blend. It was, I
admit, going for almost a thou a bottle -
looked it up just now, and the current price
range on Wine Searcher is $2562 (on home
territory in France) to $5283 (in hostile
California). That's per bottle, not truckload.

Title: GAZPACHO COCKTAIL
1 c Chili sauce
1/2 c Ketchup

I'd lose these two ingredients. Even this
might be a better sauce.
Light Mayonnaise
categories: Minceur, condiment
Serves: 18 (1 Tb each)
1 egg yolk
1 ts mustard, more to taste
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tb white wine vinegar
100 ml olive oil or other
- healthy oil of your choice
130 g fat-free fromage blanc
- or fat-free Greek yogurt
Put the egg yolk and mustard in a bowl. Add
salt and pepper to taste. Stand the bowl on
a damp cloth to prevent it from slipping
then use a small whisk to beat the mixture
smooth. Whisk in the vinegar.
Whisking constantly, add the oil drop by drop
to begin with. When the sauce starts to
thicken, pour in the remaining oil in a thin,
steady stream, whisking rhythmically.
Once all the olive oil has been incorporated,
slowly mix in the fromage blanc or yogurt;
taste and adjust seasoning. Refrigerate until
ready to use.
