• Computer down

From DALE SHIPP@1:123/140 to ALL on Friday, September 28, 2018 00:44:54
Late last night (really early this morning just before I was going to
bed) My computer made a weird pop sound and my monitor went to black. I
dug around all over the place and my first suspect was that my video card (about 1 year old) had gotten over heated and quit. Today, our son Bryan
was by and helped me dig around. We discovered that the power supply to
the monitor was bad -- no LED light and a cracked case. Why it decided
to quit on me, I'll never know but trying to replace that is much better
than trying to replace the video card or the monitor or the computer. We
will go to Best Buy tomorrow to see if they have any suitable
replacements and hopefully, I'll be back in operation shortly after that.

Until then, the BBS will not be up until things get fixed. The computer
is running, I can access its files from Gail's computer but cannot logon
    from here.

This will be the only message from me until I get things fixed.

I'm back now, but chose not to try reading on line at Doc's. I much
prefer reading and responding using my own system with Bluewave and QWK packets.

You're always welcome to use my system as a backup as is anyone in here. I don't get a lot of callers but I do move a good amount of mail back and
    forth.
