a letdown. And in any case you have to deal

Sounds like my life the past few weeks. (G) This week is a bit crazy--quilt retreat today thru Saturday.
I only stayed until about 5 today (from 8 am start) because of
church but finally (yay!) got THE quilt done. It's home now, will
get one more go-over for stray threads before going on the bed.
I was so tired that Steve did supper, basically reheated some chicken
and baked potatoes (sweet and white) for me. Went over to DQ for a
small Blizzard after church.

Tiring but got some big projects done. Was working on a smaller one
today and hit a pin, thought it messed up my machine. I couldn't solve
the issue so put things aside until Steve came to pick me up; he fixed
it in an instant (he'd noticed the solution when he worked on the
machine a couple of days ago). But, it's a project I can finish
quickly.

also comes in a cherry flavor but we got the ginger/citrus.
That sounds tasty... :) Is it at all available at your local

Not available locally; that's why we bought some in KY.
Found some tails that needed to be run under when I put the quilt on
the bed today. Only 3, and not as much "debris" as I expected. We'll
sleep under it tonight.
Not bad at all... and was it a comfortable sleep....? :)
The earlier level of UFOs... ;)
The basic level. Then I have the UFOs plus a pile of scrap to
cut down.
Yup. :)
Never ending cycle. Using flannel scrappy pieces for the baby quilt.

Good fall projects... and setting up for winter projects... :)
Depending on how much I'll be able to run the sewing machine.
You should be able to do that sitting down, no....?
Yes, somewhat comfortably, and I can drive the machine with the left
foot.
That should work... as long as the foot doesn't get too tired...
Do intend to do some advance meal prep stuff as well--stew up
some beef so I can use it various ways--and organise the freezer
to know what's where quickly.
That's always the trick... getting and keeping the freezer
organized... ;)
Very true. Got several pounds of beef stew meat the other day. Some
will be stew later this week, the rest will be repackaged and used over the winter for curry, stew, chili....................
Sounds yummy... :)
another to another down the rabbit hole of not sleeping until

Ah... I've never really done the counting sheep method... but
often enough, when I'm counting seconds when taking my basal
temp, I find that I'm back off to sleep before I get to the 300
I'm aiming for.... and wake up with the thermometer still there
in my mouth... (G)
I've not done that, nor do I "count sheep".
Yup, minds are all wired differently...

Like your next chili cookoff at church... :)
Church furnishes bowls, spoons, etc for that.
Doesn't mean you couldn't come prepared with muffin tins for your own tasting... and avoid mixing all the samples up... :)
What sort of dinner did Forest River put on for the rally...?
They had bbq brisket, pork and chicken, a hash browns casserole,
potato salad, "baked" beans and cole slaw.
A nice spread.... :)
Very good. We took some of the various meats home; they're in the
freezer for quick meals now.
Now that's a nice bonus... :) I take it they were looking for
volunteers to take the leftovers....?
A tradition for that meal is to bring in drinks (both alcoholic
and non alcoholic) local to your region for a swap so we brought
a 12 pack of Cheerwine. Steve got a soft drink (forget what it

Good thing that her husband likes to cook. He can do all the "on your feet" type work, let her stay seated and give instructions, if needed. Does he cook pretty much the same way she does or does he like to

Steve spotted a fridge on sale at Lowe's on Monday--we'd thought about getting a new one, then thought we'd hold off. The sale, combined with
his military discount, made it reasonable enough to buy, so he took me over to look at it. Spent about an hour on my feet, unbraced knee, but came home and put it up for most of the rest of the evening.
New fridge will be delivered December 10. (G)

True, over the years of on my feet doing this and that, it all
adds up.
Exactly my point... :)
Same as a little bit of overeating will add up the pounds over
time. (G)
And now you'll have a bigger fridge for when you host a
picnic, whenever that might be... :)
We'd like to do it next year but will see how things play out
over the next few months.
Lots going on still... :)
Very much so, but we'll have the new fridge. (G)
Yup, and now you do... :)
Fridge part is somewhat settled as to what will go where,
freezer will need more work when we get home. I can do that
while sitting tho.
That's good... and you can do a bit of an inventory of that
freezer while you sort... :)
As long as I can sit down while doing it and have somewhere to put the stuff I take out. A low table would be nice.
Maybe from some other favored place, though....? :) It would
be a good idea to take people up on their offers to help... :)
We probably will. Did talk to one couple who signed up after
they had a new baby. Said that they got a lot of take out pizza
so were glad for what I sent (forget what it was).
How unimaginative... ;)
Agreed, and not all that healthy to have that much pizza.
We got a couple of bags of a salad mix (forgot what type) but
the package has everything--greens, dressing, etc in it. Just
combine and eat.
That's simple enough... :)
Yes, and now we're eating off of that also. (G)
How providential... :)
Quite so, actually. Found we didn't like that salad mix as much
as we like some of the other ones. OK, but not great.
Now you know.... :)
..............not to get that one again. (G)

organised also over the next few days.
No, not at all. Stopped at a truck stop in GA on the way home Friday, decided to go for a couple of slices (1 each) of a mega meat pizza.
Mega sized slices but loaded with meat so my b/g stayed pretty good. I think those slices were truck driver sized, but overall, it wasn't a
bad pizza.

I know; then it may hit hard. I'd had no trouble with the knee for
years, then on the way to Yellowstone last year, it started hurting.
You know what the resolution to that is to be.

Not a job I'm looking forward to. Do know there's a fair amount of pre-done meats (smoked, otherwise) in the big freezer. Sides will be
the big issue; I've got some frozen greens, some canned veggies, lots
of rice and other grains so it will be figuring what to have with what
and making sure it's defrosted (if needs be) and cooked.

Seemed so--they had a limited buffet of real food out (like meat loaf

meal could be had for a small price.

Possibly so, but would like to get back to one seafood place about 50 miles up the interstate. Between heavy rain and not getting away from
FL as early as we'd hoped, we weren't quite as far along at supper time

parts of I-95, no exits along them.

Definately--after the GA welcome center at mile marker 3, there are no northbound rest areas until (I think) north of Savannah--over 100

Hinesville is the town outside of Fort Stewart. While we were
stationed in Savannah, we went down to Hinesville to a German
restaurant we'd heard about (and it was good). Thanksgiving time 2017
we were headed to FL, decided to stop in Hinesville for the night. Did

Yes, and make for a good stopping point for us. But, Steve's parents
are going to be moving into assisted living so we will be taking the camper on future trips south. IIRC, there isn't a good place to park

taking the camper on future trips south. IIRC, there isn't a good
place to park the camper and truck in front of the restaurant,
hopefully might find a spot near by.
There might be a large enough parking lot not too far away....
Possibly so; it is in town.
or a place to park the camper and unhitch the truck.... if you
stayed the night, especially.... :)
We generally don't unhitch when we stop for the night unless we're at
a campground. If we go out for supper, we find a place that's within walking range of where we've set up, like that sushi place in VA. We'd probably stop for supper and then move on to find a place to park for
the night.
Other than that, we didn't go to Hinesville for eating out as
there were so many good places in Savannah--hardly scratched the
surface of the number of places there.
That's the downside of having lots of choices.... just can't try
them all... (G)
No, but we did try some really good places. Didn't get to go back
to some of them while we were there but may, in the future.
Something to keep in mind anyway for possibilities... :)
Yes, as long as we're in WF and Steve's parents are in FL, we will be going thru the Savannah area at least twice a year. Might try some new
to us places to eat, if they're not too far off the interstate.
Still winter, after all... ;)
Yes, and now the possibility of snow seems to be gone but it will
still be quite cold next week. Getting January weather in March.
Yes... we have been, too... today was the first in almost a week where
the high temps moved out of the teens into the high 20's (and the windchills from below 0 to a balmy 10 degrees)...

Brrrrrrrrrr, you're welcome to those temps. I remember them too well.

Most likely we would be there after a lot of the businesses in the
area closed for the night (Hinesville is the county seat, restaurant seemed to be not too far from the courthouse, etc.) so parking would probably be relatively easy to find if we didn't mind a bit of a walk.
Not at this point tho, I'm not going to do a lot of walking after dark
in an unfamiliar area.

Yes, like the bbq places we've found in SC. Both were good, never
would have known about them if we were still in Savannah but nice to
know for future trips thru the area.
