Fire in the sky #1
What a bizarre mashup!
a layered sort of thing, sort of like a pousse-cafe
That's still too close together. I want them all in separate
glasses, preferably on separate evenings!
With the strawberry, one might suggest perhaps
a separate lifetime.
Your pine and birch recipes are intriguing. I have so many of both
those trees here; perhaps I can be hip and eat locally after all.
But are you trying to get rid of those trees?
Seems you guys ought to cherish all the trees
you can raise.
... Pepe Le Pew found guilty of sexual harassment & stinking.
If he stank so much, one'd think he wouldn't
have been able to get close enough for sexual
harassment!
Strawberry liqueur
Categories: booze, what were they thinking (wwtt)
Yield: 1/2 liter
8 oz strawberries, roughly sliced
1 1/2 c vodka
3 in sprig fresh tarragon
1 c water
1 c sugar
Place the strawberries and tarragon in a sealable glass
jar, then add vodka. Seal and shake. Let mixture steep
for 2 days at room temperature away from direct sunlight.
Strain strawberries and tarragon, then filter mixture
through a coffee filter or through two layers of
cheesecloth, pressing down to extract liquid.
Heat water and sugar in a pot on medium heat until it
boils and forms a syrup, about 5 min. Let syrup cool.
Once the syrup is cool, combine it with the strawberry-
tarragon infusion. Seal in bottle or jar, then shake to
mix. Let rest for a minimum of one day. Store in the
refrigerator for up to two months.
