    Good trout fishing there
Would Swisher have gotten in trouble if he'd dropped
a hook in one of the feeder creeks?
Not as long as he paid bought a "non-resident" fishing licence,
which costs a bit more than a resident one.

I know that tourists are there for the soaking, but
unless one can purchase day or week licenses, is
there a reason for outlanders to fall for that kind
of thing? The last time I planned to go on a fishing
expedition, in some jurisdictions one could fish for
up to several days without a license at all. Of course,
that was decades ago, and the trip was cut short by the
engine of the car we were using suffering a push rod
failure; good thing, else we would no doubt have
starved, my hunting and fishing expertise not being so
good as my gathering and preparation skills.

    Title: Embury's Sidecar
    8 parts Cognac or Armagnac
    2 parts lemon juice
1 part Cointreau or triple sec
One of sweet, two of sour, and enough booze
    to last an hour?
It turns out to be a tasty ratio for those who generally drink their
spirits straight up or over rocks.

Mr. Embury must have been very much the manly man.

    Nadir Blue
cat: booze, one of sour, two of sweet
    Just 2?
    1 2/3 oz gin
    1/3 oz cherry liqueur sweet
    2/3 oz lemon juice sour
    2/3 oz strawberry syrup sweet
    1/2 oz grenadine sweet
2 ts pineapple juice sweet and sour
    ice
5 pineapple chunks sweet and sour
    soda
    2/3 oz blue curacao sweet

That's a ratio thing, popularized in the 19th century
as a cocktail formula that (as with the complete
protein pairings we've been talking about) people in
a hurry could rely on. One of sour, two of sweet,
three of strong, and four of weak, the ditty goes.
The main body of this recipe (minus the curacao,
which I ignored unintentionally in my totting up
of sweet-sour things) pretty much adheres to that.

Breakfast of champions. Other noggy things
    would work just as well.

A few of his books were sent to me for review
back when I did that sort of nonsense, and they
were fun and full of that kind of whimsy.

    Title: Soft Cream
    Categories: Sauces, Desserts
    Servings: 15

    2 c Whipping Cream
    1/3 c Icing Sugar
    1 tb Vanilla Extract
    2 tb Brandy
    2 tb Frangelico Liqueur
    1/4 c Sour Cream

    Servings: 15

Chill beaters and a medium bowl until very cold. Place all ingredients in
bowl; beat with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until soft, loose
peaks form, 3 - 4 minutes. The cream should have a slightly runny,
cloud-like consistency that softly drapes over the bread pudding. Do not
overbeat. Cover tightly and refrigerate until served.
