I do not normally do food reviews, but this time we tried a product
that was so bad (to us) that I decided to warn folks here.
The product is a variety of Utz potato chips. Recently they have been coming out with all sorts of different flavors, some of which stick
around and others of which disappear. This one is called spicy buffalo dip flavored potato chips. Gail had one chip and gave the rest of the
bag to me. I barely detect any of what I might expect in a buffalo
wings type of flavor. What I get is a very strong vinegar (which is
why Gail tossed them after one chip). I would describe it as being
take your favorite buffalo wings hot sauce (ours is Crystals) and then dilute it four to one with vinegar. There is heat, but no flavor other than the vinegar.
Don't try these at home :-}}
I won't, I promise with my hand raised. Bv)=
My experience with flavoured chips has been that the only honestly named varieties are the "Salt & Vinegar". For some reason nearly every sort
of flavoured chip that I have tried gives me heartburn that could light downtown Cleveland.
The sole exception is Nacho Cheese Doritos - and I suspect that is due
to my use of them as a "dipper". They are actually "cheesy" in a good
way, not overly salty and hold up well to scooping up French Onion or
Bleu Cheese or Ranch Dip(s) - or my favourite .... Guacamole.

Title: Guacamole Caliente
Categories: Sauces, Fruits, Chilies, Citrus
Yield: 16 Servings
2 lg Ripe avocados
4 Plum tomatoes; seeded
1 cl Garlic; minced
2 JalapeƱos; seeded, minced
1/4 c Minced red onion
1 tb Lemon juice
1 tb Fresh lime juice
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Tabasco (or other) hot sauce
2 tb Chopped fresh cilantro
Quarter the avocado, discard the pit and peel away the
skin. Mash the pulp.
Chop the tomatoes. This is easily done with a few pulses
in the food processor. The garlic and jalapenos can be
minced in a small spice grinder or mini processor.
Mix together all ingredients. If not serving immediately,
cover with plastic wrap so that the plastic touches the
guacamole. The absence of air will prevent browning.
Makes 16 servings
