I began using the WIMP interface as soon as it became practical so to
do. I can still do CLI stuff but I have to remember if I'm in an MS-DOS
or *NIX based operating system. Meal Master and MMConv are monuments
to the staying power of text based programs.

So we all have our different comfort levels of computing... :) I
learned Bluewave and a couple different genealogy programs, text-based
but with a little graphic built in... I can shell out of such programs
when necessary... but that's about the limit of magic spells for me...
other than some simple utilities Richard wrote or put on my machine...

Ok, that's pretty much what I did know... that there is a risk involved
with them, but that's been there all along... this Health Alert made it
sound like suddenly ALL oysters are contaminated.... It might have
been something on FaceBook, for all I know... she's on there, I'm
    not... :)

One of the more well-known rules about oysters says that they should
be eaten only during months that have an "R," so from May to August,
they should be off the menu. This guideline goes back hundreds of
years and is rooted in lack of reliable refrigeration. Also with
    oyster's mating season.

    Which all makes sense... :)

Like Alice's Restaurant "You can get anything you want ...." except,
possibly, the truth. The next time I go on fa(r)cebook - home of much
mis/disinformation and "fake" news - will be my maiden voyage. This
(Phydeaux) and a couple e-mail lists are as close as I ever come to
    social media.

I'm with you on that.... and I'm not even doing e-mail lists... just
    various bbs networks....

My mailing lists are an F1 discussion group and the Chileheads list.

That last, I knew already... and it makes sense... ;)
