I'd rather smell like a grease mxkey, dunno about you.
    Tomboy.
Nahhh - that's my oldest cousin Tom.

Is Tom a Tom boy or a tomboy?

For me, six of one. As I spend considerable time
rendering precious fat and making the even more
precious cracklings, my fragrance is more toward
the latter end (though I should rather minimize
    the rancid part).
I prefer to smell like a fabric shop. Or to smell one, over either.

For me, smelling like frying fat would be
preferable to smelling like a fabric shop.

Is there much of a difference between creosote
    and coal tar?
They're both carbon, but one's made from coal and the other from wood. Different trace elements.
Creosote can come from pretty much any burned
    organic matter, as I recall.
Lamp oil makes a specialty of it.

Good-quality lamp oil is a refined kerosene that
doesn't produce much smudge. The cheaper the oil,
    the more gukka.

    We've seen news articles about bridges doing that;
they do so in other states as well - I seem to
recall a big bad one in Minnesota once.
Me too. One fell into the Connecticut River about 30 years ago. I think
the stuff in the house foundations is pyroxin or something to that effect. Nasty.

What's pyroxin doing in construction materials?

You now have a range from A to B?
As in Katharine Hepburn, something like that.
It could be worse; it could be A to B and way off key ... and done in bad rhyme while you're at it.

It could be A to B
    and nastily off key
    and done in bad rhyme
    if you've got the time.

But legislating in overtime would be beyond
the pale, too egregious even for legislators.
    Sez you.
    You're implying wishful thinking?
Around here nothing would surprise me.

    Well, it is New England.

    More like Betty Crocker.
    Hot dog and potato dinner
    Ewwwww. Just... ewww.

    Tomboy.
Nahhh - that's my oldest cousin Tom.

Is Tom a Tom boy or a tomboy?

He's a Thomas, retired twice now.

I prefer to smell like a fabric shop. Or to smell one, over either.

For me, smelling like frying fat would be
preferable to smelling like a fabric shop.

Fabric doesn't smell like overcooked dumpster eventually, unless it's
    loaded into one of course.

Lamp oil makes a specialty of it.

Good-quality lamp oil is a refined kerosene that
doesn't produce much smudge. The cheaper the oil,

Railroad lanterns always had soot catchers, probably for that reason.

the stuff in the house foundations is pyroxin or something to that
    effect.
    Nasty.

What's pyroxin doing in construction materials?

That's what everyone wants to know.

It could be worse; it could be A to B and way off key ... and done in
    bad
    rhyme while you're at it.

It could be A to B
    and nastily off key
    and done in bad rhyme
    if you've got the time.

    As I was saying....

A song as perform-ed by me
must have range from an A to a B.
    No C D or E
    Or heavens, F G
will out of my mouth uttered be?

    You're implying wishful thinking?
Around here nothing would surprise me.

    Well, it is New England.

They call it Corrupticut for good reason.
