I don't know which would be more disgusting.
Do I want to smell like a grease mxkey or a
    chunk of rancid crackling?
I'd rather smell like a grease mxkey, dunno about you.

    Tomboy.

For me, six of one. As I spend considerable time
rendering precious fat and making the even more
precious cracklings, my fragrance is more toward
the latter end (though I should rather minimize
    the rancid part).

Is there much of a difference between creosote
    and coal tar?
They're both carbon, but one's made from coal and the other from wood. Different trace elements.

Creosote can come from pretty much any burned
    organic matter, as I recall.

Never ever. No builder ever decided to save money that way.
What, never? No, never. What, never? Well,
    hardly ever.
They just use substandard materials in the concrete for the foundations instead. Some poured here in CT in the 70s and 80s had a contaminant in
the concrete, causing them to fall apart.

    We've seen news articles about bridges doing that;
they do so in other states as well - I seem to
recall a big bad one in Minnesota once.

These days my voice is often not much more than
    a squeak.
You now officially sound like my cat?
I can change my tone or my tune, admittedly
    with some effort.
You now have a range from A to B?

As in Katharine Hepburn, something like that.

On the other hand, they write the rules and set their own salaries.
But legislating in overtime would be beyond
the pale, too egregious even for legislators.
    Sez you.

    You're implying wishful thinking?

Sounds better than the average. By tradition ours are the ones Grandma made, boilers in a white sauce without the fancy ingredients. Like
    salt
    and pepper.
    Purity of flavors, eh.
    More like Betty Crocker.

10" skillet; stir in frozen peas until separated. Heat to
boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 25 min, stirring

Stir in hot dogs; cover and heat 3 to 4 min or just until

Nahhh - that's my oldest cousin Tom.

I prefer to smell like a fabric shop. Or to smell one, over either.

Lamp oil makes a specialty of it.

Me too. One fell into the Connecticut River about 30 years ago. I think
the stuff in the house foundations is pyroxin or something to that effect. Nasty.

I can change my tone or my tune, admittedly

You now have a range from A to B?

It could be worse; it could be A to B and way off key ... and done in bad
    rhyme while you're at it.

Around here nothing would surprise me.
